What's on the Bench 2024

Thats an absolute cracker

Im a beleiver in less is more.....other than some bush or plants i dont think it needs anything.....there wouldnt be troops around....what about a vehicle thats been dropped or is next to be picked up?.....got the straps on ready......or a cargo net full of little stuff?.......on the edge of the base to break up the 'emptiness'

Thanks for the suggestions. I've already scratch built a pallet and a cargo net should be easy enough. I just need to find / make some items to populate them as most of my stowage stuff is 1/35.

Not too impressed and already thinking of better methods but then thiswas always meant to be a test mule to try ideas

Not posted much recently, but after the fantasy cavalry slog I fancied something a little different. I therefore picked this.

It’s been in my stash for at least ten years. It’s a repop of an ICM kit, so has all the ICM strengths and weaknesses. It has very good detail and is well moulded, but there are a little more in the way of seam lines and some of the location points are vague or non existent.
I’ve now got the chassis together…straight out of the box.

I’ve replaced the gearstick with a bent pin of the same gauge and head size because I thought a plastic one simply wouldn’t survive subsequent stages. Built the engine OOB for the fun of it because I will probably keep the bonnet shut. Not sure of the colour scheme yet, but am tending towards a desert type finish. One problem though, the kit has no decals. I must have lost them a long time ago. I don’t seem to have much in the stash so will need to source aftermarket stuff. Anyway, hope it’s of interest.
