This gets my vote.

In a moment of madness a paid a whole TWO ENGLISH POUNDS for this!!!

If this had been my introduction to modelling it could well have put me off for life.

I have never seen anything so poorly molded and as for flash? try 3mm thick flash LOL

anyway i've decided to build it anyway to use it for experimenting on, watered down milliput as a replacement for liquid green stuff for instance.

So have you had any as bad as this?

I've only built 9 kits so far, but the Eastern Express KV-1 (Early) that's languishing in a cupboard definitely fits in this section.

In fact, it's the only part that definitely fits!

Tons of flash, no positive mounting points, miss-aligned parts, warping .. the list goes on!

The RPM "Model T" I'm building as part of my WWI group build is a pile of poop, lots of incorrect parts that don't fit together properly, have no positive locations, are buried inside sheets of flash, have sprue connections like tree trunks and it's molded in that nasty metallic silver plastic that Revell sometimes use

Apart from that it's spot on:lala:

I know this should stop me but i am looking for an rpm kit (mg nest) There is a verlinden kit of the same item but i look forward to a challenge so the rpm kit it is.

For me, without a doubt its the Revell Human Skeleton. Ever since she was a nipper, my daughter has been interested in the skeleton so, many years ago, when she spotted one in the local shop she talked me into it. i dont know if it was because it was luminous but it wouldnt glue together very well at all. It was held together by little plastic barbs which were useless. Bit by bit, the limbs fell off until my wife took the initiative and binned it. Recently, she came to me box in hand saying, 'Dad, can you build this?' It was another Revell skeleton she had bought on evilbay. All the bad memories came back as I had to suffer the tons of flash, badly fitting joints and useless barbs. All the while its badly fitting, luminous face just grinning at me. I abandoned the barbs for fishing line drilled through the bones and tied discretely. I hope I never see another one.

My wife bought me the Revell Saturn V kit for Christmas, bless her. It's awful, and has been consigned to the loft; I feel so sorry for her - she spent ages getting it and hiding it from me.

In short, yes. The Airfix Stormovik from the mid 1980s. I started it a few days ago as a hack model to get back into the swing of things before I attempt a more desirable kit. I don't think I will be showing it to anyone, that's for sure. There are gaping gaps between the wings and fuselage, a stand hole underneath, the propeller blades are about as thin as a piece of writing paper and need repairing and reshaping, and the port wing from the upper half is about 8mm short of the bottom wing section. To top it off the windshield is missing. I bought it decades ago. I just knew as soon as I started it was going to be a bad idea. It's a really disheartening way to get back into the hobby. Not a waste of time though, I have learned much about putty and repairs. I think it will become my painting, finishing and weathering experimental. What is it with crappy IL2 kits?
 
The worst one I have had so far is the Airfix 1/24 FW190. Described by many as unbuildable it took me 6 months to work my way through it. Funny though how it turned out to be one of my better builds to date.
 
I did that Airfix 1:24 FW190 decades ago when it first came out and I thought it was a great kit.... perhaps my memory is somewhat faulty!!!

Hi Barry.. The list of defects that needed alteration on mine were

1 Engine is too long for the fuselage causing cooling fan to protrude by 5mm,

2 wings were an appauling fit onto the fuselage. I had to split the wing at the root to increase its depth so that I could get it to fit without forcing it

3 Tail wheel sits to high up in the fuselage and had to be lowered to get the right angle.

4 Lots of trimming of the cockpit bay to get the fuselage sides to join

5 Engine cowlings come in four parts and none matched up properly.

I know Iam not the only one to experience these fit issues. there are several build threads on the internet that cover the same problems which fortunately I had discovered before I started building mine. They helped a great deal. You must have had a good one.

Thats quite a list!!!!

My rose coloured memories perhaps....
 
I can only consider myself lucky not to have yet suffered a really bad kit. A few 'putty munchers' for sure but nothing too bad.

My Minicraft B-24D is flash city. I'm sure they poured the mould whilst it was still apart. Has to be the worst kit i've ever seen
