My previous Vb tropical has just had a make over and is now part of my Tiger squadron. More about that later.

So having a hole where she was parked, I built another one; UF X EP689 a bit different from the other one by way of the clipped wings and Aboukir filter.

Some where in the front office is a nice instrment panel and a Sutton harness. I forgot to take a picture before I buttoned things up!!! You can just se the harness in a couple of the pictures, along with the retaining wires!

The whole of the outside was painted with Humbrol metal coat flat alu.

Bottom is Vallejo azure with a tiny bit of white. The camo is Xtracrylics Dark earth and Middlestone. Serious scuffing with a selection of blunt objects and wet'n'dry sorted out the chips and scuffs.

The only Decals on this are the dont walk markings and the sq badge over the rather badly done tail flash!!! (might do it again).

The satincoat is not 100% hard yet, so tomorrow I will give it a bit of a wash for the panel lines and some exhaust/gunsmoke. And paint the bloody tail wheel tyre!!!

Nuff waffle, heres the pictures

Looks very tasty Ian, like the chipping around the panels. I have not had the courage to try that yet. Really like the tropical colour scheme, I am becoming obsessed with all things sandy.....

That looks excellent Ian!!!

I'm lovin the chipped paintwork and the airbrushed markings - very cool.

Looking forward to the finished thing

All the best

Paul

The paint chips work extreemly well and help to make the often removed panels stand out but take care you don't get carried away and do it too much. I like to do a bit then leave it over night and look at it again the next day. Quite often less is best to avoid one particular effect becoming dominant.

A great looking model Ian. I really like the desert camo, nice job well done.
