great start and well done with the tankers helmet, lovely shadows.
He does look to be in a chill wind, peeping out of the top of his T34 looking for a dread Stug somewhere on the horizon!
Hopefully some more good light today?
Its bright here, -4C with 8 inches of snow in old money lying deep and crisp and even.
Have fun finishing the head and with the leather jacket too.
I guess you will need the next victim warming up in the wings too!

Scottie - Don't jinx it!
Andrew - Thank you. I thinned down the eyebrows last night, but the head is safe.
Steve - Good scenario. His shoulder boards show him as quite senior in rank, so perhaps he's the unit commander and has seen a few battles. No snow here, just lots of rain and very dull, which is a pain.

I didn't think I'd get this finished today, but it all came together surprisingly quickly. I painted the jacket with mixes of Vallejo Flat Black and Basalt Grey, with highlights no lighter than the latter unmixed. I then gave it a coat of satin varnish, which does obscure some of the shading with shine, but does help add depth to the leather.

Steve - Morning. We've actually woken up to a dusting of snow, a pretty rare thing in Kent these days. Construction day today, so artificial light will be fine - a 1/16 plastic figure methinks. Glad you like this bloke. I've since fiddled a bit with his brow-line and got it looking tidier and more realistic. He's in the cabinet now. The texture on the jacket came out a bit in the painting, but the varnish has really helped it catch the light.
