I know i'm cheating here as these didnt actually fly over my house!.I was at work at Southend Airport last Saturday and these two BBMF Spitfires landed. They were here along with the Lanc on an overnight stop on the way to France. Our company lets them use a bit of our hanger space for free.

It was a nice surprise. The aircraft were imaculate, as you would expect with the BBMF.They were that worried about getting foreign objects in the tyres that both pilots swept the floor with brooms in front of their aircraft.I told one of them i was in the RAF for 12 years and i never once saw an officer sweep the floor!.Comment

We are on the flight path for RAF Cosford when they have the shows there.
We have had the Vulcan bomber as well as the Battle of Britain memorial flight pass over us.
We see Chinooks and AH60s regularly. Tornados pass over several times a year, although this year has been much quieter.
We've not seen the Red Arrows this year or the biplane display team.
A few years back we used to see a pair of warthogs practising dogfighting almost daily. They were a regular sight over Burton-on-Trent.Comment

My favorite time was a year or so ago when the Lancaster from the BBMF flew right over my head about 100 feet up. We were just crossing the road to go home when the big black beastie came over the top. A day when I wish I had my camera as it was in the pattern for Duxford air show and it does regularly circle over Royston, Herts where I live......................... but not this year YETComment
