    Hi all,

I'm still around, but life and work has beaten me up a bit. Still on the search for bargains while reducing the stash too. I found a few since the beginning of the year. One for Mr. Benson and for € 22, simply irresistible,

This was also a deal for € 21, but too new for towing a BF-110 or Horten 229 in WWII,

Some great finds Allen. Been looking for company trailers in my scale forever. Have a 1/87 Bailey but it doesn't have the ped. bridge. PaulE

My old home made one was feeling cramper so I splashed out on big brother here.....it’s about A4 sized, well made, with a good lid seal......

Here is a size comparison with the old palette.....I find that I run out of room by the end of the project so the new palette should minimise that problem.

The new one is thinner, so should stay wetter longer. It also has a sponge base rather than a blotting paper type that I’m currently using. The old one will be retired to metallic use only......

I'd be interested to hear how you get on with that Tim. I bought a small AK one to replace my home brew one (which, like you, I've demoted to metallics) but the paints absorb a whole lot of water through the paper. If I come to them the next day they are far too thin to use, negating one of it's advantages. Next time I use it I'll be trying 2 layers of paper to see if it helps.

These dropped today. I've not done a tank for a while as I'm not a big fan, but I'm a sucker for a new Tamiya kit

And some goodies hidden within the box. Some more flexi CA to replace the one that I destroyed trying to get the cap off, a top up on some mediums, a replacement for a blue I had issues spraying, and a few new colours.

            Hi

ok, not very exciting, but what is exciting was the way I bought them - today we have come out of our lock-down so I could go to my local model shop, not only go to the shop, but go without a mask or social distancing!

who would have thought a year ago that walking into a shop, without a face mask would be so strange and exciting!

HobbyBoss's spelling mistake! - It should be HMS Agamemnon - a sister ship to the Lord Nelson. they were obsolescent when commissioned - their completion being delayed by their 12" turrets & guns being diverted to finish HMS Dreadnought in a record time.
Pre-owned - got it a reasonable discount. Ebay prices- 'buy it now' & auction prices are higher. No need for any additional PE - complete set of railings etc supplied on four frets. Only thing I need is a display stand, it's not missing, HB just don't provide one!

Although i have sold over 55 kits and accessories and the stash is now only StuG's and ships this will come in handy, looks very good even has chains but to have the engine suspended you will have to make your own engine strap

                      Morning all

As usual great service from John!

Given the issues I had with the resin Jerry cans I've had for my North African vignette, I thought I'd order some from John and in doing so discovered Tamiya does a few versions each of which comes with some different extras that offer interesting possibilites........so let's just say I'll never run out of jerry cans ever again......had to make the most of the p&p charges after all!!

I'm not sure I'll use the tent but the radio operator definitely offers' possibilities for the vignette/dio.....

And yes, that is a bottle of enamel Revell gloss yellow....

I have plenty of enamel paints left from when I cam back to the hobby, as knew no better. So I've decided to have a go at making my own enamel washes rather than fork out on manufacturers versions. The initial red/brown batch I mixed worked well but I needed the yellow to make a more orange rust colour. If it doesn't work then it's only cost me £2 - of it does work it's saved me that several times over.

                      ATB.

                      Andrew

Here at Race Towers a special parcel arrived this lunch time, from my old friend Steve Rivet Jones. He very kindly sent me his brilliant built and weathered 1/35 T34.

Id seen it on his Y tube channel and Facebook page but seeing it in the flesh is something else, certainly gives me something to aspire to in painting models.

This will appear at some stage in a dio, the type has been left to Steve to decide.
