I've heard lots of good things about the new Airfix kits but the only way to know is to build one. I fancied this subject so will give it a whirl:

And the new AK wet palette. Roughly twice the size of my old one (that I find too small) and a handy dandy dry palette in the lid.

I've also fallen for the hype and am trying some GSW products. I use automotive UV putty a lot at work but have found it too hard to sand for models. Almost instant curing with no sinkage, should be helpful if it sands okay.

And a few other bits to make the shipping from Spain worthwhile.

Some gems there. I thought about the Airfix kit - This looks like a rebox from the 90s.

a bit of a quirky one, but could make a nice centre piece for a little vignette:

one thing which is really nice with the Flodden Steam Wagon is that the kit comes with a memory stick containing pdf instructions along with dozens of photos of the build process as well as photos of the real thing; both from ww1 and of restored vehicles. A really great resource for building the kit.

Now that’s a bit different. Very interesting indeed Peter. Did they use the Foden boiler to produce steam for the autoclaves or was there a stationary boiler that travelled along with them?

Being so different is what attracted me to the kit, it look a very complex build, hopefully complex = fun rather than frustration. Time will tell but lack of instructions or info cannot be an excuse. The Foden provided the steam, but there were smaller versions consisting of one autoclave which needed a boiler.

I don't know how it is on the Insel, but I really hate Black Friday sales on the net!!! Over here, MBK threw a bunch of stuff on sale at midnight on Monday and then more later on during the day. Nothing I really needed, but then I saw something later on and as you say...It would have been very rude not to snatch it up for the price! Postie gave me this an hour ago. A big box full of parts,

With my 5% discount added on, it came delivered for €114.95...Yea I know, will he build it??? Maybe, but if I don't build it, it will just fatten up my kid's inheritance when I go............I still hate Black Friday sales!!!....

PS, they also have great deals on some WnW kitsets too (but I have them already)...

I’ve got a PDF of the manual for the gun on that, in case you need detailed views of how it goes together

Thanks so much Jakko, and I've made a note of your offer for when I do build it. I had a quick look through the instructions and the kit is well detailed. The rotary auto feeder is all there, including the 75 mm shells and the cannon itself is also very detailed. Too bad you won't see very much of it after it's built...

BTW, I looked a few hours ago for any new deals and they have pulled this kit and put it back to it's normal price of €159.95...Luckily, I got one cheap, and I still have a stupid grin on my face!!!...

Nice one Allen. I got anemail from Airfix about their Black Friday sale. When I had a look, they were selling one of their Cromwell tank boxings for 19.99 - almost half price. Trying to be sensible, I decided to sleep on it. And today when I thought I'd go for it, they are no longer on offer.... snooze and lose..... literally.

I did console myself in the end and bought one of those AFV club Churchill bridgelayers for 15 quid off....

Thanks Nick! Funny thing was. right after midnight MBK was offering the Dragon Panther G late, kit 6602, for about 1/2 price. I built the original and it is a great kit. I thought about it and then went to bed. When I woke up, it was gone from the sale too!!! Back to the price of over €80. Way too much for it...Sometimes we get lucky and sometimes not...

Hope you and yours are doing well and I gotta ketchup with what you're building Sir!!!...
