Speaking of the Challenger, that reminds me... about a month ago I saw this kit

and it reminded me of building the Airfix 1/72 scale version when I was much much younger - in fact I had several, along with Scimitars and even some crude attempts at conversions to the other variants such as the Spartan APC etc. I loved this little tank and even got to see one up close at the Bovington museum. I couldn't resist (a familiar story eh?) so went and ordered it.

It soon arrived and I was very pleased. Then, as you do, I was looking on eBay (evilBay lol, like it!) and saw this:

which was very close to the end of its auction and the price was almost half that of the retail price! Woohooo!!!! So now, ahem, I am the proud possessor of a Scorpion AND Scimitar kits, PLUS the track sets from Accurate Armour since I'd read that the tracks are a bit too tight from the kit. Then, looking at the Accurate Armour site I made the "horrifying" (well at least for my bank balance) discovery that AA do 1/35 resin kits of the Spartan, Sultan, Sampson, Smaritan, Striker, Shielder and Stormer! Woah I can get a complete set, well if I take out a mortgage to pay for them all that is!

So these are in my stash and one the 1/35 tillly is complete and then the 1/48 resin Standard Tilly from Accurate Armour is added to the 1/48 Battle of Britain diorama I'd been working on before the Austin Tilly and the Group Build, then I can consider moving on to the Scorpion... or maybe the Thunderbird 4 kit that is looking all forlorn and unloved... choices choices...

Nice find Allyne. I dont know how you all do it. Everything I find on evil-bay that I actually want, I can normally find cheaper in an "ordinary" web shop!

Ian yes push this over to the SIG, I have a Leopard 2 A6 to build as well, the one which ewe ahve already discussed, so how about Modern NATO armour, that gives peopel a chance to build the Challenger et al!

Just a suggsetion mind, but if it is to be the Challenger then yes I will build as part of the SIG, just when a start time is planned and the alloted period, or is that a group build?

I have started a SIG for the Challenger. The Challenger Challenge, get over and sign up if you would like to join the build. I will keep the Modern armour for a GB later on.

Ian i lose out on alot of kits because i refuse to pay stupid prices. Also ther are alot of kits on there that end at stupid hours of the night and when i'm on shift at work i can bid on them quite easily. I have two more kits i'm bidding on and if i win these i'll be buying no more for a while

Money has been very tight lately - as for most of us , ebay impulse buys are long gone as are chucking it on the old credit card , monthly budget for me now lads , I`m having to pick and choose very carefully , my March buy is the 1/24 Fujimi Porsche 917 from Hiroboy with the Zero gulf blue and orange ab paints ,

In my eyes the 917 is one of the best ever looking race cars and with the gulf colours it sets it apart big time

                            Some nice kits there lads!

That Arizona is a monster Be interesting to see that go together Scott.

Richy, its a Porche and its in gulf colours so that can only end up looking fantastic.

Allyne, Nice flying pencil. I know what you mean about silly prices, I too avoid the panic bids, I just seem to get out bid at the last moment nearly every time. It gets a bit frustrating, but what can you do. Its rather handy being on night shift, you can keep up with the USA timed auctions. I have been lucky a few times though.

I was out today and got a kit I have been after for ages. The Tamiya Vosper fast patrol boat 'Perkasa' in 1/72. so that was good. I "grabbed" a Flakpanzer Gepard while I was there also Tamiya and yet another relative modern machine.

I managed to get a pretty good deal on this from eBay yesterday.

Hasegawa Spitfire Mk IXC Scale: 1/48 #HAJT79 UK

This is my first Hasegawa kit and also my first Spitfire (since the little airfix one when I was about 10). I paid £13 odd and a couple of quid postage. No doubt I will be after much advice when I get it started. Got my eye on a 1/72 Messerschmidt n'all!

Well Hunty I am sure it will not be your last Hasegawa or your last Spitfire either.
