Progress is slow but a little bit more done. Added the clasps to the turntable cover.

Then some parts were replaced with brass on the crane as the plastic parts were very brittle or badly formed

And the boom cable was added from elastic thread.

I have to clean the cables up a bit. The cable clamps were made from wire and plastic strip.

Progress is slow but I'm plodding along. The vehicle is on the base for a test of the layout. You may notice some parts on the truck require painting still. The legs on the work table I have had to make again as the first ones I made I copied the dimensions of the kit parts, however when I offered it up for a test fit the legs were about 5mm to short meaning the table angled sharply down making it impossible to work from.
The crane is not glued just dry fitted to allow me to position it later and the cable for the hook is also not finished again to allow me to put the hook where I want it later.

And work also continues on the building With the addition of boarded up window and steel gates. I also just for a change want to create a concrete hard standing as I have never had ago at that before.

Thanks Paul, I thought the steel door would be a bit different to the wooden doors I normally do.

The brickwork has been picked out roughly as my intention is to have worn paint/whitewash on the outside, so fingers crossed I don't louse it up.

Hi, Paul. Just had a catch-up. The base is looking as good as the truck. I really like the concrete, looks like the real thing.

Thank you John, I must admit I am quite happy with it given it's my first attempt at this type of surface.

The base is now 99% done and I am quite happy with it. Next is to mount the truck and add the clutter for the scene.

I also modified some mini art windows to make a skylight and attempted to show a flat lead roof with the flashing.

I still have the figures and some more junk, but I'm not sure it's working for me. Anyway see what you think.

All is beautifully executed. Would have thought the crane at 3 o'clock w/engine on hook being administered by crew. Isn't that where U started?

Yes mate that was the plan but the crane hung over the edge of the base to much so the engine would have been off the base as well. It's my fault I didn't plan it out properly.
