Interesting.....I was only thinking about this sort of thing the other day, as I have the same issue. Could you take close ups if the masks?

Arrived today from Johns shop.Thought id get these rather than trying to choose paints at the Melee at Telford at the weekend.Thank you John for a fast turn around on my order.

I've bought something really old. I saw this going for an ok price (inc P&P) I've always fancied one and with next years 'Build an old Airfix GB' I went for it. New tool in 1968, same as me !

I had a parcel arrive today 😊

Any ideas what it is? Here’s a clue.

Yep another Typhoon 😊

IMG_3856.jpg Airfix’s latest rebox but done in conjunction with the charity who are currently restoring the aircraft shown on the box front to hopefully air worthy condition. Best bit all the money (presumably profit) goes to the charity 🤩

Geoff.

Well done Geoff!! I also have this kit but it's going to be a Christmas present and so I can't play with it yet.

I found out about the charity a while ago and as it's one of my all time favourite planes, I actually support them on a monthly basis. It's only £2 a month but it's better than nothing.

Looking forward to seeing what you make of it.

I have a devil of a time with tweezers so thought I'd treat myself to a decent set, to see if it helped. So far, so good. They come together at the very tip first so even with my tendancy to grip on for dear life (I know I shouldn't) they don't seem to splay out and send parts into orbit

I bought some decent tweezers a few years ago. They seemed silly expensive at the time but have saved me a lot of crawling about looking for pinged parts. i am sure you'll feel the same.

A mate suggested I try a couple of 1/56 Rubicon kits and bought this last week. It came with so many options that you could nearly build 2 kits from the one box!

A bit of both scottie, the nettles and thistles are PE and single pieces than bent from a flat piece, the roses and mullein (no idea what they actually are) are paper and a little fiddly as the leaves, stalks and flowers are all separate. but they turn out very nicely

Went into the local model shop to get a couple of jars of paint, and came out with a new model!
I'm sure they do some sort of Jedi mind trick on you...(Spoken in Alec Guinness's voice) - " These are the models you are looking for".
🙂😆🙂
Anyway I now have this for the shelf....
A 1:16th scale figurine.
Brit Air Red Devils Orig Kit nov24 (1).jpg
They had a couple of other figures, a US infantry man, and another, can't quite remember which? but I had an Uncle who did some parachute jumps in WW2, not sure where or if he was an actual paratrooper, but this particular model just spoke to me, so I had to get it.
Having done a few very small 1:72 tanks I'm now getting used to the tiny parts and fiddly painting, so I'm looking forward to building this one at some point. Bit scary though as I've never done a figure before, and getting the face "right" seems a bit of a challenge, but hey, we'll give it a go.
👍

A special one that definitely deserves a mention. Huge thanks to scottie3158 who has sent these to me free of charge and wouldn't even let me pay for postage. Funds are tight at the moment so this amazing gesture will allow me to try my hand at something completely new. And Verlinden work doesn't come cheap at the best of times. Thank you Paul! Your kind gesture means more than you know.
