'That Time' arrived earlier this month. Family coming to stay and smallest Grandchild now moved from a cot to a bed. This is the first time I've had to dismantle my work area since I put it together in 2019. Most of it went into a couple of large plastic crates and after moving out the bench and chair, the bed was pulled out. I zip-tied the wardrobe doors to foil any access to the tools and paints therein and all was well.

Put it back together the following week and took a picture just in case I could get a short-term entry into the Tidy Bench Club.

Just turning the cutting mat over has made a huge difference although normal service has now been resumed.

Good try Nick, but the random bottles on the desk need a permanent home.
Plus points for the paper towel and sanding sticks storage.

I’m impressed, but I have a permanent exclusion from any kind of tidy club so that isn’t much of an endorsement.

The box room, which was my son’s bedroom became unused since he went and grew up and got a job etc.
I left it with all his toys and junk, so on the odd occasion he could stay over if he wanted, but earlier in the year I decided to redecorate and convert it to a modelling room.




I had been modelling off the kitchen table for years, luckily it’s is a big table so I’ve gone from this….

I’ve not been in here long so still organising and adding bit. Got my eye on a display cabinet and shelves but it’s so nice to finally have my own space.


The Mrs got me a plaque for the door . So now when it’s time for action….you can find me in the bunker

Little update on mine, as since I moved the sofa bed out, that freed up a lot of space!
So now instead of going down into the garage every time I wanted to spray something (rattle cans, primer, etc) I now have my proper AB spray booth in the modelling area. Its not perfect but, TBH it now has everything I need, and everything is in the one, convenient place, eg: working desk area, good lights, plenty of storage space, photo booth, AB spray booth, smaller desk with laptop and screen, plus space to store my stash.

Nice Simon... Even though my daughter moved out last year.... She told me I could not convert it to a modelling room.....

..... And who was paying the mortgage!

Cheers, I went big Lol!
A lot are 30cmx30cm or 45cmx45cm but I went for 60cmx60cm, better to have more space than you need.
Same with my AB spray booth, a lot are 40cm, 42cm, or 45cm wide, etc but I went with 52cm wide, bit more room to work, etc.
