With so many new members on the forum ( and a good thing too. ) I'm finding it hard to keep up with all the new posts. And there's so many fantastic builds going on to keep up with. Keep up the great work guys and gals.

Yes, sometimes I feel awkward not having the time to look at all the posts and reply them immediately. Actually the MM guys were not as enthusiastic as they are now. The new site must be the catalyst I'm afraid and some of the old post are being rekindled. Must be a good thing. :smiling4:

I've noticed a lot of the posts from the new guys are of past builds allowing us to catch up with what they've done - and I'm really impressed with the quality of the builds I've seen. I guess the number of posts will fall as they get settled in. In a way I kinda hope so, 'cos I can't keep up with the number of posts at the moment and I don't want to miss any of them, but at the same time I want to see more.

I wonder how long it will be before we stop referring to them as 'the new guys'? Judging from what I've seen and read so far, they're a friendly bunch so I don't think it will be long at all.

I've been in France this last 5 days, and I'm finding it truly impossible to catch up with all the new stuff posted by all members.......:upside:

I've noticed just a few days after posting his finished work, some more is posted by the same person.

This gives me no chance at all of properly looking at the presented individual builds. I'm not whinging, it just that I just can't concentrate on loads of stuff at one time, thus missing so much.......Is it just me?

I'm sure the 'Conveyor Belt' will slow down in due course........Me, I'm off outside to get me some rays!

I've been thinking for a while now that a useful feature would be a "Mark this post read" button - a lot of the new posts are genres that don't interest me, and it would be nice to be able to remove them from the "New Posts" lists without having to open them every time someone posts a comment.

Gentlemen, it is very difficult to keep up with all posts for sure. I had that prob on the last forum and finding I am having the same prob here too. I am trying to find a compromise between Moggelling and catching up on posts, but it ain't working for this old guy. Ain't enough hours in the day and I still got a few years till I can retire. Please have patience with me...

There are a lot of “Story so far” posts from us newbies, aligned with “new shiny forum” excitement ..... stick with it, we’ll all calm down soon and apart from a couple of guys, will be back to one or two updates a week. For my part I found my little blokes disappeared off the recents list almost as soon as I posted my updates, so only got two or three comments LOL.

It is dizzying how thick and fast the posts are coming in from the new members. It is normal, you join a forum and you want to show what you have been up to. The fun starts when up to 150 new members turn up all at once.

Couldn't agree more. Also the variation in types of build is great. It's good to see things I wouldn't dream of doing - the scratchbuilt F8F for one.

I am finding that it is slowing down a bit now that everyone has settled into their new home and posted all their old builds. The variety on the forum is an absolute joy

The posts are flowing fast and try as I might, I am missing some out. It's just a fact of life. What it does prove is, what a vibrant place this forum has become. There's always something new to view/read. It's brilliant.

Just too much to see and enjoy. One good thing about this forum is the "Like" button. Shows you appreciate something even without commenting. If I don't post a comment on a thread it is far more likely to be that I simply just missed it or had time constraints than that I'm not interested. There is also a huge variety of subjects to keep tabs on.
With so much going on I hope people don't get upset if their work doesn't get the comments they would like. None of us can post enough to do justice to the skill, time and effort we see here.

you should have been here a year or so ago

up til then we used to have 5 buttons.....besides 'like' there was 'dislike' (which hardly ever got used), 'funny', plus a couple others that i forget

when it was proposed doing away with them all to sort of force people to actually type it caused quite a lengthy thread since so many people do exactly as you say.....when its not possible to actually say you like something its still possible to show appreciation

Steve, I haven't the time yet to show my builds blogs shots individually...just snap shots of the completed item. So it might get picture heavy from me and hope I don't bore the old site guys and the new ones. Don't worry I won't blast it at one go...when the nostalgia hits me or when its relevantly peaceful. :smiling3:

I think there is a lot of new member excitement, and that is the main reason for the high level of posts. I don't expect to be able to keep up with everything, nor do I expect people to have the time to look in, or comment on my own threads. I'm just glad that the site is so lively and generating so much activity - got to be good hasn't it?

Personally, I'm used to posting a lot, so my apologies. I work fairly fast, and constantly and sharing my builds has become part of the process. I'm very pleased when people comment, but not offended if they don't. I'll try to cut down, as I really don't want to dominate my chosen section.
