Hi All,

I know I promised a bottom shot...here it is...

I had time so I added the slide rails to the edge of the cockpit sides with thin plastic strip painted silver and applied with white glue.

The finished kit on the homemade pedestal and the proud winner of the gold medal and his prized kit at the
Navy GB show today...

You've done a fantastic job there Richard. For me, the best bit about looking at other people's builds is the inspiration gained from looking at a great model. And that's what this is.

Richard,
I've just looked at my 1/72 version from HobbyBoss - it has the same parts breakdown, horizontal split wings & front fuselage, vertical split tail. The big difference is that there is no provision for wing folds - I can live with that
Dave

Hi Richard
That is a beautiful model and richly deserves the award.

Thanks Colin and Jim...part of the praise should go to the kit as it was a nice kit to build. I thoroughly enjoyed all two and a half weeks on it.

Dave, I hope the fit is as good as the Trumpeter 1/48. Will obviously be better than the old Airfix kit.

I may have some pictures of the other contest displays. Will post that next.

Richard

Missed this one till now, very good looking work Richard.

Neat paintjob, love the subtle pre-shading and great work on the decals.:smiling4:

Superb result, absolutely worth the medal.:thumb2::thumb2:

Thanks Fernando, Glad you dropped in for a look. If you like FAA planes...this one I recommend. Beautiful lines with the pre-Hunter look.

Cheers,
Richard

Yep, I know the lovely lines.:smiling4:
Fell in love with the Seahawk since I saw the one at the Dutch military aviation museum a long time ago..
Have the same kit as you and hopefully I’ll have a chance to build a MLD (Dutch Naval Air Service)version soon, just need to find the time and guts.:rolling:

You'll love it Fernando, the kit comes together quite easily. Only some sanding at the cheeks.
