Latest Acquisitions (2019)

I was looking for LED light bulbs on Amazon, found them, then needed to find something else to bring me up to £20 - for free postage - found theserevell 1914.jpg

For ....................... £7.74!!! They are the ICM figures, reboxed, and the box says 12 figures, and 451 parts - loads of accessories. I've been wanting to improve my ( virtually non-existent ) figure painting, and at that price..................

For ....................... £7.74!!!
So postage would have been more than £7.74?

Jakko,
no, but when I found the figures, I couldn't resist - at least half price or even better! postage for the bulbs alone was £4.49.....................

By the time i have finished it will not be your last lol !!!!

lol yeah sure Bob. First got to get my Jagdpanther (Late), Tiger I (Late), Panther G, King Tiger (or Tiger II for you purists) and 88mm Flak 36/37/41 before i even think about another Stug

Had a bit of a splurge at Scale Model Shop in an effort to combat my usual post-holiday blues. Postie tried delivering them on Saturday but we were still in the middle of our nightmare 17 hour drive home, so I picked them up from the sorting office this morning.

Firstly, for the Stug GB later in the year:

I couldn't decide between these two for the recon GB so ordered both:

A few cheap add ons:

Building up my collection of plastic as I have a few things in mind for the future, plus a free sheet kindly thrown in by John:

A few paints and a small selection of oilbrushers to try. After hearing good things about them, from Simon on here and elsewhere around the web I figured I'd give them a go. Hopefully they dry more quickly than the cheap oils I'm currently using that can take up to a week, even for thin layers!

And also in the parcel, I was fortunate enough to nab one of the faulty AK weathering pencil sets John was giving away. Many thanks again to John for that, and the second picture shows the issue with them. I only picked one out of the box to take a look! Nothing a bit of tape or maybe a coat of varnish won't cure though.

Dropped off by Mr postie one that I have always wanted to try but never got around to it.20190902_173858.jpg

Another one of those "throw a €0.79 higher bid on an item in the last few seconds on evilbay"...……………………..Yup, and win the thing too!!! It goes with the one from last week and for under €15,

And of course some needed things for a scratchy build and a set of resin tires for a Steyr 1500A in the stash that didn't have any. Love the winter chains on them,

And the €10 price for them was nice too...……………...…………...
Really !

Yes Sir Dude 2,

And because of your super dio with the bridge and Stalinetz, I had to get a bridge too! The difference is, mine is portable and was cheap from evilbay...……..

IMG_1847.JPG

And I finally got this bicycle set too!!!...Also cheap, as I have the E.T. Model etch set for it in the stash for a year now...…….

We won't talk about the 5 resin figgies I won last night on evilbay, now will we!!!...………………………..

Hi Tim,

Very similar to the Leonardo shop I found in the alley behind McD in Akihabara.

I got kitphobia and came out with nothing on the first day...just overwhelmed with the choices and not enough luggage space. :disappointed:

Cheers,
Richard

There must have been a post office somewhere :smiling3:
Ya like everybody speaks English there.:thinking: Getting directions at train stations can be chaotic with sign language and lots of pointing at maps and knowing how to pronounce the name of your destination. Arigatogozaimas.

Cheers,
Richard

A few recent purchases. :)

A couple of kits from eBay, a bargain at £26 for the pair. The Stug is for Bob's GB.

As a result of a small lottery win, I've bought two off my wish list - delivered this morning by postie
One second hand........................azur loire.jpg

One from John at SMS - fast service as always.
I've been eyeing this up ever since it came out................gaz kornet.jpg
A year or so ago, I made the basic Gaz Tiger, by Mengfin 05.jpg
It'll be interesting to see the differences in manufacture & presentation ( if I can get into the stout Zvezda box!!! )
Dave

( if I can get into the stout Zvezda box!!! )
I noticed that with my recent Zvezda kits. Even worse, once you actually manage to get in it the inner box seems to magically swell and is a real bugger to get back into the shiny outer carton :smiling5:

Hi all

I had discovered it's release a few months ago, with absolutely no need for it, but a colleague persuaded me it was an absolutely essential purpose despite the fact I have no room for it in the cupboard.

I know they weren't used for long in Normandy but I thought it be something different from the usual run of the mill stuff (Si - I hope you agree). A quick peak in the box bodes well for the build!! :)

Special thanks to John at SMS for the following reasons:
  • 5% supporters discount (thank you indeed);
  • ordered 11:40pm Thursday with error on delivery address;
  • he corrected the error at 7:24am the following morning (Friday);
  • arrived at work Monday morning!
