Heres the Fiat finished . SMER reboxing of PlasticToy kit first tooled in 1959 in oddball 1/40 scale. All extra detailing and markings scratchbuilt. Build thread can be found here https://www.scale-models.co.uk/threads/fiat-cr42-n-nightfighter-in-1-40-scale.33391/ . It wouldnt have been possible without the excellent walkaround pics on the Stockholm IPMS site so thanks to them . The aircraft is finished as the mount of Capitano Luciano Marcolin , CO of the 377° squadriglia autonoma , Palermo ,Sicily 1942. The Caccia Notturna (night hunters) were tasked with defending the night skies over Sicily from allied bombers.DSCN3195.JPGDSCN3196.JPGDSCN3199.JPGDSCN3200.JPGDSCN3201.JPGDSCN3202.JPGDSCN3203.JPGDSCN3204.JPGDSCN3205.JPGDSCN3207.JPGDSCN3208.JPGDSCN3209.JPGDSCN3210.JPGDSCN3211.JPGDSCN3212.JPGDSCN3213.JPGDSCN3216.JPGDSCN3217.JPG

Just lovely. The huge amount of extra detail you added really pays off.

Hi Tony
That is s superb result. Just shows that with patience and skill even an old, poor kit can be made into a great model.

Great work Tony. I really like the wear to the paintwork - very realistic and not too OTT.

All the scratch building and attention to detail has paid off Tony, that's a real beauty.
