What's on the Bench? 2021

Mr. Jones, that's what brings home the "Gold" Sir. Not exactly why we do it, but some of us just like mucking about with the details more than we like building the model itself.....I know I suffer from that disease! :tongue-out3: So Moggel on and enjoy it while you still have eyes and steady hands to do it. :thumb2:;) Rick H.

Preparation is under way for firing the load bed.
Tickets will be available in due course.

Well, the HMS Spiraea is on the bench, but not on the bench, as the clay is drying on the sea...................... I feel like I want to start something new..................I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not sure. I've picked up about four or five models that caught my eye in the stash, now when I look at them, not one really grabs my imagination - perhaps I need to dig deeper into the stash! ( I already found a Heller 1/400 Graf Spee that I didn't know I had! )

In the world of PE there are two things I hate doing. One is clamps the other is hinges

It took one hour to do these two using 0.5mm styrene rod and 0.5mm pewter rivets. Fortunately there are only two more too do. Life would have been easier if I had chosen to have the hatches closed :smiling3:  :thumb2:

Hi Steve, I feel your pain. You may find it easier to use 0.3 copper wire than the styrene for the hinge pivot, it makes it easier to fold the fingers round.

Moving onto a prototype, possible "paper Panzer"?

I shall try to do a Martin Kovac on the seams and armoured steel texturing.

More soon?

Nice start. Looks like Elephant suspension members, must be early Porsche design.

I'm still on Emergency....:smiling2:

Cheers,
Richard

Steven, be aware the track links are not 'flat', more concave, and are a s*d to glue together. Otherwise the kit is a dream to put together......

Morning/Afternoon/Evening

I also have the HobbyBoss Vorne kit too,

Vorne

Why?

I guess they were cheap on E-bay once upon a time!

There is a plan of the Hinten,

Rumour has it, 1 Hinten was build using the Krupp turret with the curved mantle shot trap, mistakenly called the Porsche turret.

The box top artwork is quite good for a possible diorama for the Hinten.

I am going to try carving out weld seam trenches and texture the armoured steel plating as per NightShift's recent JagdTiger build.

The turret looks very well detailed, the main tank body is more or less done as I'll leave the tools off.

The tracks are 50% clipped and sanded, and do look quite good with the edge details nice and crisp

More soon?

Regards

Steve H

I remember these used to try to fly over 100mph. The steering would get verryy, veerrryyy light.

Looking good, just got me one of these. Always wanted a Vindicator. At one time Academy kits were hard to come by in these parts.

Cheers,
Richard

Don’t think I’ve ever seen a kit of a Vindicator made up. Interesting to see this develop. Didn’t it have some sort of cowling issue that led to it being called the “wind indicator” ?

Hi all
Not posted much here recently, I’ve been in a bit of a slump. Still, onwards and upwards…..finished these doggies. They are 28mm Oathmark figures by North Star Miniatures…painted with Vallejo model colour and tufts by warpainter.

….and….the obligatory calibration shot……

The riders will be along next. Hopefully about a week or so to paint them. After that I have different stuff to give me a change of pace.
Hope you like them ;)
