I blush from such great comments from fellow modellers whose work I admire and which inspires me. Thanks guys :thumb2:
The next job was to make up, paint and fit the pump head for the elm tree pump which tops out on this deck. The kit gives a pin to act as a hinge on the handle. I just used styrene rivets and glued the whole thing solid.
...and fitted.
All the beams for the quarter deck. Each one needed the charring from the laser cutting sanding off.
So far fit has been good but these beams were very slightly short. Maybe the whole cross section has splayed out a fraction. Not an issue mostly but the front and rear beams would show a small gap at the ends. So tiny slivers of wood were fitted and sanded back.
Fit is fine now.
Beams are just dry fitted. The large nuts are just to hold things in place and the centre cross beam is laying on top whereas in reality it fits underneath.
Next job is to mark and drill holes for the gunners tool brackets and then paint the beams off white.
Thanks again for staying with this. I'm slow at the best of times but this is a marathon even for me.

Painted up. I also made the shot garlands.
The instructions say to fit the beams and then drill holes for the tool hooks and fit them. I decided to fit the hooks before fitting the beams. Beams painted off white.
All the quarter deck beams fitted.

You’ll probably be glad it’s over when you finish Jim, but I’ll miss the updates. I find each one excellent. Full of good modelling and interest.
Jim, you did the right thing by drilling the holes first. I just wonder how you'd had fitted a pin vise level to drill in between those beams.
