While visiting my Sister and her Husband in Salem, Oregon, we spent a little time at the Evergreen Museum in McMinnville, Oregon.......Huge Facility! Had to be in order to house the "Spruce Goose". There were a lot more aircraft to see but our time was limited so did the best I could....more when I visit them again in the future. Rick H.

Rick you’re just full of “Goodies” today WoW very nice set of pics. Like PaulE said earlier thanks for sharing.

Excellent pics rick , looks like a great museum . The Spruce Goose is just amazing , completely dwarfs everything else! Cheers tony

Great Stuff Rick,

Thanks for the pics and did you get to meet Howard too??? Now for the mathematical question of the day, How many Me-262's could fit inside the Spruce Goose???....You got 5 minutes to answer Buddy!!!

None. The fuselage was 7.44 m wide on the outside, and minus quite a bit for the ribs, as the photo shows; an Me 262 was 10.6 m long and 12.6 m wide, and the narrowest it can probably be when parked diagonally seems to be about 10 metres (based on some quick measurements in a top-view drawing).

So: you couldn’t get one inside of it.

Hi Rick
Looks a great place. The Spruce Goose is certainly a one off monster.
Is that Salem the place with the witches?

Thanks for sharing those pics, Rick. It'll take a life time before I can get anywhere near these places. Corvid just made it worst.

Cheers,
Richard

There seems to be a lot of planes parked outside like a Voodoo, Neptune and C-47 besides an F-14, Mig-29 and a weird helicopter seen from the top of Googlemaps.

Cheers,
Richard

Fancy having two towns called Salem. Just leads to old brains like mine being confused :hugging-face: :rolling: :smiling:
Off to Google The Salem Witches.

No worry Jim....Just goes to show what a lack of imagination some of the elected officials suffered from when coming up with new names of places for people to live...LOL:tongue-out3: Rick H.

Ha - try this for size - most common city names in the US

1Washington88
2Springfield41
3Franklin35
4Greenville30
Null pointe for originality!!! ( Salem is 8th with 26 )
