Shuttleworth Model Show 2022 - Sunday 13th Feb

Andrew, the military vehicle show I was talking about is Tanks, Trucks and Firepower. Held just south of Rugby over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Great show, very friendly, not just tanks but re-enactors, artillery, command trucks, even a few classic cars! More details at https://tanks-trucks-and-firepower.co.uk/

Another couple of modelling show fliers I picked up at Shuttleworth:

Lloyd, thanks for posting your photos. Did you get any pics of those 1/6 scale RC tanks? There were 4 or 5 there, dwarfed a 1/16 scale Tiger! Apparently they weigh about 250kg eack, although mostly made of aluminium.

Hi all

So better late than never, below are some sample pictures from the show.

As usual there are far more than can be reasonably posted here, so I have created the usual album (link below).

As Junior and I were with the club exhibiting, we got free entry - including to the museum! So some of the pictures are from that but will be in a separate post..

I hope you enjoy them.

All the best.

Andrew

So having set the table up ahead of the show, you have to get yourself set for the day!! And yes Junior had one too!!

The show was in the engineering 'hall'. I'm about about a third of the way in the hall at this point. Most of the trade stands are to my left and/or behind me.

This is our club stand. You'll recognise some of them from on here and also the last Spalding show. Sadly we lost one of our older members to COVID last year, and so as it was the first show back we dedicated one section to him.

Some random models from the album, including some of the RC tanks as requested.

Recognise this from somewhere.....???

And it's not just about planes....

Thanks Rick. It was indeed. Not a big show by any measure but some great models on display and great to catch up with our very own Pete aka 'stillp'.

Yes, it was good to meet up Andy.
Nice of the Collection to have the Lysander up against the barrier with outer panels removed wasn't it.
Pete

Does anyone know how to get a hold of the guys who were selling at the show, looking for the following and seems to be sold out online: ITALERI HARVARD Mk.IIA 1/48

Holding thumbs that someone at the show has this on sale for me to purchase unless anyone can advise where to look.

Sorry Lloyd, no. Why don't you try contacting the organisers to see if they will give you a list.....got to be worth a go.

Missed this last one. Went last time before Covid hit.
Boy was it cold! Was the hanger heated this time around?I
If not maybe they should look at moving the event to a warmer month.
Many years ago when I used to organise the Chiltern Scale Model Show there, we used to have it in September. All of a sudden the Shuttleworth stopped us from having our show there with no reason given. We always took the trouble to ensure the hanger was swept and tidy when we left so there were no issues on that score. After a few years they started to organise their own show, so I can only guess is that they could capitalise more by running the event themselves and charging everyone their own entry fee to view the collection too.
