I haven't been at the bench for a while - my Doctor has advised me to rest my right hand, he thinks that I've started using it too much , too soon, after my OA has flared up & died down. In this case exercise isn't good! So to keep my equilibrium I've been posting the Inbox Reviews. I'm getting quite good typing with my left hand! I've got to wait a couple of weeks, with minimal use & resist the temptation to take up arm-wrestling. A bit frustrating, as the hand feels OK at the moment.

Very sorry to hear this Dave,
I'm not familiar with that complaint... Is it painful?
Sterling work by you for posting up the in box reviews,I know for sure that I'm not alone in liking them very much :)
I hope the resting up,as you're very obviously towing the advice given, does the trick, and you're back messing about with plastic again very soon :)
In the meantime, take care of that hand....and enjoy viewing other people's models ;)
Cheers for now,
Andy

Hang tough Dave.... you'll be back at the bench before you know it. By the way... Thanks for the in box reviews......not my scale, but very interesting nevertheless. :thumb2: Rick H.

OA = Osteoarthritis - it can be painful. it's in in the joints of my right hand, particularly in the thumb & first finger, they can swell up a bit. Mostly it's just a throb & stiffness. It comes & goes, sometimes with a change in the weather, sometimes for no apparent reason - no real treatment - just painkillers & anti-inflammatories when it is at it's worst
Dave

Ouch, with you that count Dave, I have OA and my hands cramp, painful joints and cannot grip. You rest as best you can mate and take it easy.

That must be so frustrating Dave. You have my sympathies.

Nick

Hmmm,sounds nasty,:(
..."There for the grace"an all that,
Hope you get the better of it soon mate :)

Forgot to say, I’m enjoying the review as well. It’s really good to see stuff from the lesser known companies reviewed.

You’ve got my sympathy as well Dave. I know that feeling well. It’s always worse when it’s cold or low atmospheric pressure goes across :loudly-crying:

‘Er indoors got me a pair of these for Xmas. When I’m suffering badly from RA they really help support the joints and relieve the pain…..might be worth a punt?

Snap, I got some for Xmas. They sort of work for me, always worth a try though.

I do have a lot of mainstream models, but I figure those can be easily found as build logs, or inbox reviews on the internet - I don't find many 1/35 models in my stash that aren't mainstream, although there are one or two that should be appearing in the posts soon.

Frustrating but your right to do as the doc says. You'll be back at the bench soon and in the meantime keep typing the reviews with your left hand.
Jim

Sorry to hear your problems Dave, just take it easy for a bit, hoping you can get back to the bench soon.

Take it easy Dave, I am sure your great in-box reviews will keep your left hand busy and let your right hand recover.

Andy.

Dave

Sorry to hear about the OA raising it's ugly head.

I just wanted to thank you again for in-box reviews you've been doing in the meantime; they have been very informative.....but not so good for my stash wish-list!!

ATB.

Andrew

Take it easy Dave, don't overwork your left hand.

I reckon I will give it another ten days - if I was feeling any pain, it'd be OK, but it's frustrating when it feels ( reasonably ) normal. Probably why I've had trouble - rushing tings!

This is turning out to be much harder than I expected! I'm almost getting withdrawal symptoms, I've read twice as many books as I usually do, my tea & coffee consumption has gone up! Doing the Inbox Reviews actually doesn't help, I thought it would occupy my time, but all it does is make me want to get back to the bench even more. I've decided that this next Sunday is the end of the rest. I've one or two models that I'm going to review over the next few days, that I've extracted from the stash, but all that will stop, when I actually start making some of them.
