You may have bought some of the books I’ve passed on over the years Andy :tongue-out3:I've been lucky several times in the past.... But only with reference books, not kits

Been lucky, the ladies at the cat rescue charity we help ring me if kits turn up, most are part built or missing parts or cr*p but I have had a few goodies! I always give a good price and recently gave them some vinyl albums to sell and military books.Me too, I’ve never yet seen a kit at a thrift shop or boot sale…….and young Peter seems to find them at will…….

I'll test them as I never used that brand before. The 25% rebate was too good not to give them a try and I was looking for a gold and some leather colour.Looking good Andy. What are the scale seven acrylics like to use?
They're gel based so dry a bit slower and can be wet blended. You can also thin them to glazes using just water. They're actually quite nice to use.I'll test them as I never used that brand before. Elven gold, which I tried on a pair of 54mm epaulettes, brushes well and dries rapidly; brush required a thorough cleansing so my educated guess, for the moment, is that the pigment density is rather high and adherence too. I'll get more impressions after some more extended tests.
I'll let you know as trials go on.

You'll not be disappointed with MRP but I think AK real Color has the slight edge. Now I've had a chance to use both.My meagre Telford haul. The MRP paint is for my 1/24 Hellcat winter project. I’ve never used it before so I’m interested to see if the hype lives up to the results.

Nice haul Paul. It’s amazing what you find that you didn’t need before you went isn’t itMy swag from Scale Model World.
I loved being able to browse the equivalent of several excellent model shops, all in the same place. It's so much easier than Internet shopping, when you can see and compare the actual stuff.
Brushes: I got some Pro Arte scrollers (aka riggers) and some workhorse synthetics. I'm likely doing more with white metal, so I beefed up my prep equipment with mini needle files, sanding needles and sanding sticks, and a 2mm glass fibre burnishing pen for crevices (I've already got a 4mm one).
The tweezers looked nice, so I had them, of course.
Paint: I got some Abteilung 502 high density acrylics. The idea is to dilute these with equivalent coloured acrylic inks to get a highly opaque paint that flows well, for lining out freehand work. We'll see how that goes...
And the 3rd Gen AK metallics are because I've dismissed NMM (for me), so I need to up my game with TMM. And YouTuber Miniac loves them, so I thought I'd give them a go.
The bottle is to dispense airbrush cleaner more economically. And the mini mole wrench is for my dinghy cruising toolkit - but that's another story entirely.
You can soften or stiffen the abrasive effect by varying the length of the bristles as well. They were a real “go to” tool back in the day……especially for etched brass work.Tim, you're a star. The glass fibre brushes are incredibly effective, but very nasty to use. I was wondering if there was a way to reduce the irritation the stray fibres cause - and there you were with the answer all along!
