I've just looked over the instructions for my kit looking to see the paint callouts and 12 different marking options, and I have to chose twice...........I fear analasys paralasys might kick in.......
(Though I do have a kit with more options.)

I always open boxes when I get them as I was stuffed on the Mossie build when I opened it 3 months after purchase for the GB and found a sprue was missing. Airfix sorted it very quickly though.

Good question Ian.... and one that hadn't occurred to me!!....
..... Thinking on my feet though,Id say you can tell your "friend" that I was initially thinking of, Japanese as in,"of Japanese origin".

Fine if it's from a reputable retailer, but not a dead cert if it's from a private ebayer
