Thread owner
After a lovely week in the sun and a bit of a chill I’m back on the bench . The Henschel had now had the top colours applied and will be de masked later . Decals next . IMG_7324.webpIMG_7325.webpIMG_7327.webp

looking good, the fuselage really is very angular - not sure I’ve seen anything quite like that other then stealth aricraft.

Demasked , glossed and decals applied . Ive fitted the replacement exhausts and it will now be getting a sealing matt coat ,then I can start adding the final few bits and giving it a light weathering. image.webpimage.webp

Just caught up with this one Tony. Great work. I've always liked this aircraft since building the old Airfix one. I still have an unbuilt one of those, plus a Hobby2000 example....

Undercarriage fitted then it was time to fit the big gun. The attachment for this was very poor , just a big slot for the barrel and no fixing locations for the gondola so it was a lot of looking at photos and 3 view drawings to see exactly where it needed to be . Its now sorted and the barrel got several rows of holes drilled in it too . I highlighted the control surfaces with a black wash and gave the whole airframe a light rubbing with some well worn 1200 grit sponge to rub off the paint on the raised panel lines to show them a bit , then it got a couple of coats of matt varnish. Next up is a bit of exhaust staining and general muckying with some sooty brown . IMG_7548.webpIMG_7550.webpIMG_7552.webpIMG_7553.webpIMG_7587.webp

I’m a little bit late to this build Tony, but some great work has been done. Looking very good indeed. Really glad you opted for the big gun I the end.

After applying the exhaust stains I gave the panel lines the once over with the thinned black/ brown to break up the solid looking colours (especially the underside) . After looking at the few period pics of hs 129 b-3 s , the aerial doesnt seem to feature , only a df loop so the kit aerial was taken off and the df loop fitted ( kit had both options ) . An aerial wire from the tail to the fuselage was added , nav lights were painted clear red and green , two gunsight lenses were added to the external gunsight with holographic confetti and it was finished . I popped on the props and heres a few pics to finish the build thread - more to come tomorrow on a ‘completed’ post. Thanks to all who have been watching , cheers tonyIMG_7593.webpIMG_7594.webpIMG_7595.webpIMG_7596.webpIMG_7597.webpIMG_7598.webpIMG_7599.webp

Excellent build of an unusual aircraft. The crew must have been well shaken with that beast.
