Yesterday was an extremely sad day in our house. It was my father in law’s funeral down in Sussex which I was unable to attend as our dogs illness had worsened. I sat and watched the funeral on a live feed before heading to the vets where our dog was put to sleep. Those of you who have loved and lost pets will understand the immense loss you feel as part of your family goes. We had 12 amazing years will Lily and she has already left a massive hole in our lives. RIP little lady.

Sorry for your loss Mick. Its never easy to let a pet go especially if the decision has to be made by the pet owner.

Blimey Mick, that's horrible news,we know exactly how you feel after losing our little "Mort" a few years back at the age of 13.
It's an awful time, and even though it's hard to do,try and think of the good times mate.
Our thoughts are with you, take care

My thoughts are with you and your family and friends Mike at such a sad time.
Loosing a loved pet is a terrible thing. I've been through it myself.

Our condolences to you and your family.
Mike, Yvonne.

My thoughts are with you, I've been there and I know just how intensely painful it is. I wish you all the best.

Thanks so much for your lovely comments, another reason this is such an amazing community to be a part of.

Mick,
You have our deepest sympathies. I know what it's like to loose a dog. They are so much more than a pet they are family.

Mick sorry for both of your losses my thoughts and prayers to you and your wife. I just realized this week our cat is 12 years old but is in great health but I know the time is coming soon. So I understand what your feeling now.
