Amazon Policy Change

Plenty of times I’ve had that happen. I’ve even seen them stop outside m then drive off without getting out of the van. We tend to get the other problem though, stuff just delivered to random places. Round here people with deliveries coming from EVRI have had it left at field gates…….we had fresh food from a cold chain delivery left in a barn somewhere. Herself had some plants, on priority 24hr delivery, delivered two weeks later that were basically straw when they got here. All of it was easily replaced, but I do wonder how any company that uses EVRI makes a profit. The resupply costs alone must overshadow any savings in carrier fees. Apparently the drivers are exploited to death over workload, and they get paid by delivery, not by time, so don’t bring anything back. We once had a delivery left by the gate at quarter to twelve at night……

I was visiting my daughter at university in Northampton recently and saw one of the wheeled Amazon delivery robots trundling down the street. Very clever technology, though not sure how it would work if you were not at home to remove the package from the robot??

Seen that. Not so sure about the drone delivery system though, well, unless you want a 7000 part dinner service 😂

And I received exactly the same "failed attempt" email today.

Tomorrow I'm sticking a note to the door reminding them that not everyone can answer a door in under 5 seconds!

I read a joke on another forum about someone going out to repair an Evri delivery van where the parcels had been off loaded into another.
After repairing it the repair guy took the van back to the address he had been given.
He found no one around, so he left it in a 'safe place'.

I have a weather proof plastic box hidden behind the gate, served me well with most couriers (except sodding Evri! . . . grrrr. . .)

Amazon usually take a piccie and send it to the customer to alert them it's arrived!

I can't complain about Amazon, they are remarkable really as deliveries go, if I order stuff in the morning sometimes I can get it the same day! Especially if it's delivered to one of those locker boxes found in the streets near shops and services, the one I use is at a huge petrol station on the main road into town, the Amazon guy drop stuff there first
