Just had an Amazon delivery and the driver kindly mentioned a policy change.
In future they will leave any parcels in your designated safe place without attempting to knock/ring at the door.
This is to save time so they can give more drops to their drivers.
Be warned if you designate a safe place and the package gets stolen you have no recourse

If you delete the safe place instructions on your account they will then have to knock and if no answer try to call you for instructions.

I've never had the driver knock, but usually he'll text that he's dropped a pkg. on the front porch.

We usually have ours delivered to works reception, so never an issue,unless it’s after business hours, but we got something delivered to home the other day, it was a quick knock, drop it on the door step and get back in to van, I had to call him back and ask him to pick it up and leave it on the inside of the door as I couldn’t bend down to pick it up due to my op, he was very apologetic and did as he was asked, most would have just drove off

One reason why I always use a collection point wherever possible..... Then I don't have to be in...... Luckily I've got one 5 mins walk away from home
