if i try an order from this company i may incurr customs fee
Its a curse isn't it. I have pretty much given up buying from England and other places out side the EU. Yes OK there is a lot to choose from in EU, But still a pain.
I want a part for my Yamato, It can only be found in the USA where a guy 3D prints them. The part costs USD19.50 but postage and duties to send it here USD25. So 42 bucks for a 20 dollar part... Nope. Oh and then there is the handeling fee at the Danish end! Pirates the lot of them.

HI all many thanks for the info but ive just found out this morning that i think i may have to fit 55mm 5 bladed props as it been well over ten try since i bought any props an i have forgottern what type of props i need to push this very heavy model along so i contacted a boaty m8 who bought my HMS EDINBURGH an its a big model an i asked him what size props i fitted on edinborough an he say 55mm diamitter an she sailed lovely so no 45 mm now so that means i will have to drill out all 4 props shafts an clean them up an refit them back in the stern section so at least another 6 months work there so she wont sail anymore till late 2024 oh dear

but no good buyin a lot of moneies worth of props if they are still not big enough

Hmm Did the Edinburgh have 4 props as well? Just a thought.

HI Ian no she has just 2 props an twin rudders an sailed well but she is only 7 ft 3" long nr 8" shorter than tiger an not as heavy so if i cant get any joy from the model boat shops here i may try an send for these props from where you have said in denmark an hope that the customs dont hit me to hard an do you know if that company accepts paypal ?

Keep going mate. Many would have thrown in the towel by now .
HI John TBH yes i was nr to doin so as well as ive never had all these probs before on my other ships they went fine but my new boaty mate yesterday gave me a good hard talkin to an says he will help me so light at the end of the tunnel but just got to hope that these new monster motors will fit in the hull an the motor shaft lines up with them prop shafts if not then i will have to buy 4 new motors again these treble 555 motors the ones i was goin to buy in the first place but got thrown off them by the shop owner to buy them MFA 540 motors which ive found aernt beefy enough for power so hopefully with bigger props an a bit bigger rudder she will sail so it still fingers crossed but cant do any work on her till she been in a october model show after that i can get stuck in on her
CHEERS John for takin an instest

Hello Chris,
Just caught up again on your build again and pleased to see you get over the obstacles in your way. 88lbs now what are you expecting the weight to be when completed.
Mike.

AN HI Mike well the probs arent sorted yet as there is still so much that can go wrong as im sure you know that when you alter something it has a knock on effect so you have to alter that an so on but yes she is running now at about 88lbs but with 4 new bigger props an maybe in bronce or brass so they will be more wheight an the 4 big monters motors which are up to 3 time heavyier than the 540 motors that are now fitted in so all up wheight havnt got a clue but i must admit that when she was in the water Rick ( mini me) noticed that tiger was sitting high at the stern so maybe this extra wheight maybe a good thing as this will push the props deeper in the water so more prop thrust but liftin each section of the hulls are now gettin worryin as that hull will only take so much stress an wheight an may crack so got to be carefull when liftin her when she is whole
cheers Mike for also takin an intrest its all you guys that are keepin me goin on this build but god my poor ole wallet lol

Sounds to me like the price of electric motors and other RC things are higher than over here.
My plastic pusher has those 45mm screws five blade at about 12-14 quid and a good motor for between 13 and 30 quid each.
