Moving on, yes, a bit more has been stuck together or painted.
The cockpit is finished. A bit of flat varnish followed by a dusting of chalk pastels.


Guns, funny little photo etch things will probably look ok once painted.


The fuselage is buttoned up and primed.


An exhaust manifold, ready for an engine.


And so, onto the engine. I’ve cheated a bit with the ignition leads. There should be two per cylinder, one per cylinder was enough for me.


Maybe I’ll get a bit of paint down tomorrow ?

I had a head start. This is a profi-pack, so it comes with PE, I just had to make it look a bit used.

Not much of an update, but the decals have been started. There are big decals for the wings, do I like them ? well, I’m not really sure, but of course the option is to paint them instead. In this scale, that could be painful.
The carrier film is quite prominent and I did have a go at peeling it off, but the decal lifted, so that went straight back down.


And the propeller has finally dried.


There’s a whole load more decals to apply yet. It will be a long slow process.

Brilliant work Colin. The detail on the engine and the paintwork looks terrific. The prop is awesome. All of these very detailed parts are going to cone together to make a very special model.

No Dave, absolutely no joy was had in applying those decals.

The prop is awesome.

Cheers Paul. It didn't quite turn out the way I wanted it, it's a bit too light. But it will do.

That Prop is VERY good. Well done Colin. Do you let your oil paints leach off on a bit of card first or do you just use them right out the tube...?

Yes with the oils, just 10 / 15 mins on a bit of card helps things out. The decals, well, these might be the new type that you can (unofficially) peel the carrier file off. I had a go, and it nearly worked, but not quite so I abandoned that idea. Despite not being a great fit, they are very stretchy, and did conform quite well. I'm hoping their look will improve greatly with a flat coat.

Wow Colin, you've really gone to town on your little Fokker!!! Now repeat after me, "I love Lozenge decals, I love Lozenge decals". There, now don't you feel better Sir! You are also forgiven for only wiring up 6 of the 12 spark plug leads. In that scale, I wouldn't have even tried to do the first 6, let alone the other 6...This is going to be great when it all comes together!!!...

I deliberated, and deliberated, over the other 6 ignition leads. Then after pouring another glass of red, I thought, no, less is the new more, and moved on.

Well it’s starting to look like an aircraft, even if the colours seem a bit odd for a fighting machine.


Then the landing gear struts. Not really any positive locating points for them, so out came the poly cement, giving me lots of time to juggle and persuade things into place.

This will be left to set, as the wife has just suggested we go to the pub for dinner. Talk about timing !
