Just a few more pictures to tidy things up a tad.

This McC,- B. was a real character and well worth a read about.....

A thought on canopy painting...

I refuse to spend my pensioners dinner money on a few bits of sticky masking tape, which can cost more than the model itself!
In any case, I haven't the patience or skill to apply the stuff to an acceptable standard.
So I simply paint the framework with a suitable brush and any wayward snots I remove with a sharpened cocktail stick. Dinner money saved!

There you go.
An interesting and absorbing project, but not one I will attempt again any time soon......
Thanks again for your support and banter during the build.

Cheers.
Ron

You mean you are given dinner money.... I usually have to turn the dustbin lid upside down and stand outside the back door of the local Chinese take-away....

As for the model, fantastic subject and finish, well done....

Now off to Sainsburys, dumpster diving.....

Thanks boys....

Bob, as far as this camouflage is concerned, the aircraft I've used is purely fictitious, . I just happened to have a couple in my stash.

The good read is about yer man himself...... ;)

Yes, he was certainly interesting. First wife was his niece (but older than him), second wife was 20 when he was 39.

Nicely done Ron. A very interesting project.
Good to hear you've saved your dinner money for it's intended purpose. I just hope it goes on some decent fodder and doesn't get diverted to strong liquor, loose women or your book maker. Mrs Ron would not be happy and revert to packing you up a dripping butty if you can't be trusted to spend wisely.

Thanks for the feedback boys. :thumb2:

Bob, one cracking life cut short.

Jim, I spent my money on fast cars, strong liquor and loose women. Unfortunately, I squandered the rest!

Fantastic job Ron , this can sit next to the berlin camo chieftain on the psychedelic shelf . Glad to hear youve saved your dinner money , now get some Tunnocks down yer neck !
Peace man , Jimi Hendrix

An extremely good what iffery if ever there was. Great job .

That's great!

For some reason it looks absolutely right on the P-40.

What might have been if the USAAF and USN had spent less time fighting one another and more fighting the enemy :smiling3:

I missed the build (gardening and old car season is here) but yes, this looks brilliant. I'll have to do a bit of home work on the scheme though, unsurprisingly, it's not something I've come across before.

Sorry fellas, I've just seen I didn't reply to your most excellent posts.
I'm chuffed you all approve of this theatrical sidestep away from Mr. Mc.C. B's original intentions.....

Cheers.
Ron
