Well 'The Cosford Massive' - Ron's got a picture - met up again today for yet another wonderful day at Cosford. My commiserations to those who can't get there - you're missing out big time!

More well-deserved prizes for the lads in the competitions and some good chat with a fair few bargains found to boot. Here's my lot:

Regular viewers will recognise a change to my usual purchases but I have a cunning plan - more in due course.

No doubt the others will be along soon with their comments.

You kept that lot quiet John! You got anything specific planned for all those figures?

Nice haul off goodies there chaps I've been saying for years that we should go to cosford and now I will have to turn on the charm :D

Mind you I am spending the weekend in Portsmouth at the end of the month for mine and SWMBO's Anniversary ! Who knows what goodies I will find at the navel museum :)

Quite a bit of armour in your haul Dave, I'm agog to know the rest!

Hopefully I'll make it next year!

Cheers

Patrick

Yes, I had a great day again, nice to meet up with the usual crowd as well as a few new faces. My haul was quite extensive as usual and included quite a few 32nd scale aircraft , a couple of miniart diorama kits and a huge gato sub courtesy of Ron, sorry it took so long mate, totally forgot about till you reminded me. Got some great bargain

I'm almost embarrassed to say I came away with an Apache and some glue.

But well done to the lads for a great result in the competition.

People, we have some serious talent on this forum.

So did anone actually take a camera with them.....

For those who didn't make it to Cosford I'm sorry to say you missed a great day out got to meet nice people from the forum and bargains galore free entry no parking fees (park n ride free coach) would highly recommend you try and go next year . Monica the skulls are for a few figure bases I have in mind 1/16 scale added interest to the base hopefully cheers John

Dave all those figures will be found loitering in numerous future dios as I have a few in my mind when time permits cheers John

Ian, yes, I took a camera.....Here's the one and only picture we managed to take!

I'm afraid ( as was the case this year, and long may it continue) it turned into a great re-union, and by the time we had finished eating the picnic, doing the raffle and nattering, there was little time for the actual model show, not to mention picture taking.....

Thanks to Tony and Dave for donating the prizes for the raffle...

So apologies to all.

We did manage to blag four second prizes between us though - well done chaps. Nice though they were, for my part, they took minor placings compared with the crack I had with a great bunch of people.

John i am, where did you get to? We turned around and you had gone, sorry we didn't meet up again.

Here's my collection...I couldn't believe my luck, all dirt cheap, especially the 1/350 Graf Spee!

I'll get this in before Tony...See the HMS Belfast, £1.99 started? Great bargain, I had a look in the box and spotted a turret had been painted, closed the box and bought the kit. When I had a proper look at home, not only was it a completely different main deck ( far too small) half of the main hull was missing!!!..........Yes, I know!

Thanks again to you lot for making it such a great day....and apologies to those who expected photos of models. We promise to do better next time, don't we boys?

Ron

AS Ron says above , a great day was had by all members, some old faces and some new. We had a bit of a free raffle with Dave and myself contributing the prizes , nothing major just useful bits and bobs. There were plenty of superb models on show and lots of bargains to be found if you know where to look (under the tables ,rooting em out like a pig finds truffles!!!) and the honour of Scale-models was upheld in the arena of the competition with four second places being won , two for me in the aircraft section-the Seiran and ANT 25, one for Ron with the lifeboat Dio and one for Ian for his wrecked/restored Evening Star. Heres a few pics including my very restrained haul of only 4 - the Mig was a real bargain at £20 and none of the other three cost more than £5! cheers tony

Well done lads. Glad that you all had a great day.

If you all landed a second place, I'd love to have seen the winners!

Me too. Still, it was good see people "in the flesh". At the opposite end of Gern's 14 kits added to his stash, I came away with a spray can of Tamiya lacquer. Big spender, me.
