The rigging inside the fuselage was difficult because the fuselage sides and floor were moulded in one piece. If they had been separate then life would have been so much easier. Even so, it was a very satisfying build.

Dave

WOW. just how you got that rigging sorted is worth a gold medal!
That thing is tiny!

Excellent work Dave. As Ian says, the rigging must have been very tricky, especially the inter-fuselage stuff.

That's excellent Dave. Must have required great bravery to actually fly one.

Definitely, Jim. He flew over the Channel at a speed of 45mph at a height of 250 feet and took 35 minutes to do the 22 miles. At the time of his flight, Bleriot had a foot injury from a test flight accident as well.

BTW, it takes a lot of bravery (of a different kind) to rig these thing too!

Dave

They were certainly brave chaps in those days, flying one of those things ! Anyway, a great model Dave, well done.

Thanks Colin. :thumb2:

I am currently watching "Those Magnificent Men in their Flying Machines" on DVD. I was going to watch it during the build of this Bleriot XI but decided not to as the rigging may well have suffered from all of the laughing.

Dave

Lovely job dave , a tiny one for sure . There's more rigging inside than outside ! Top work on a golden oldie , cheers tony

Another great build to add to the shelf well done Dave not a wingy man (but enjoy whats done on here)looks like you got a lot of enjoyment from a very old piece of plastic it shows with the end product brilliant job with what you had in front of you. Dave
