Female modellers?

:smiling3: Her almost £1000 sewing machine has more buttons and switches than Concord:flushed:
Oh, so Singer has moved on then ? This is what I remember. I used to 'storm' it with my soldiers.

There's some good lady figure painters on YouTube nearly all fantasy stuff but top draw and I can understand them being interested in that but can see no reason for them liking the usual repetitive stuff ie another spit 109 tiger pz111/1V plus as was pointed out if we could read a knitting pattern we'd all be at it

It's not quite the same but I remember visiting the Britain's factory when it was still in this country, and all the painters there were women.

I have seen a few female modellers at shows.. most recently the Coventry and Warwickshire show at the Midlands Air Museum.. she was part of the West Mids Police IPMS club.

WELL jen likes paintin fantasy figers as not so long ago she bought a make up dragon an she made it up an painted it up an it looked really good so yes there are female modelers as she helps me with that tomcat

Lady modeller’s-very rare. Maybe models just appeal to the male brain more in most cases.
What hobby do the ladies do, which has little interest for men ?

Most clinical psychologists would say men are generally more interested in 'things' where women are more interested in 'people'

Indeed there are, I follow a few on their YouTube channels

and not forgetting Jen Wright's brilliant YouTube channel, she is the self professed 'Iwata Queen'

What about free style ironing.;)

Ha! is that still a thing?

missus Miko's one and only attempt at scale modelling at what she pejoratively calls 'stickin'!

(I'll insert photo if Revell 1/72 spitfire mk V when I find it)

Going slightly off the original topic....Extreme ironing is definitely a thing..... Came across it in the very late 90s/early 2000s...... Apparently a Brit wanted to go climbing on the local climbing wall but also needed to do ironing......

Great find Andrew, just read some of the other mad things people take up like cycling down that hill . All in all think it's a great thing to read about whacky people enjoying them selves in ridiculous pass times .

Do any of us belong to Extreme Modelling !

Sometimes I don't stir the paint quite as much as I should, I occasionally have a sniff of Revell contacta because it has a pleasing aroma and, I have been know not to replace the little lid thing that goes on the top of my Xacto knife!

Does that count?

Well mmmm no , sorry however should this occur with you standing on a one leg blindfolded then yes . ;)

Since the Fantasy category was added to the Penang show there was a sudden influx of female modellers. I guess it's the genre that appeals to them.

Cheers,

makes perfect sense to me. I mean do we REALLY expect them to be interested in ww2 panzers ?

My wife is into aviation stuff and has bought a 1:144 sale tornado to have a go with, so hopefully!
Remember to smile and nod in all the right places...
Seriously, give encouragement where and when it is required, hope she turns out a cracking model.
