I was intending on finishing it as the PR version but I’m undecided now, it will be between that and the 109 Sqn version 🤔.

Looking at to starting now 🙂

Cool, who does not like a nice Mossie.....:)
One of my favourites Peter, I’m hoping to get it started in the next few days 👍

Okay, that's two Mossies to start with, so I'm definitely sticking with the figures I chose
They look great Chris 👍

Either version will look great Geoff and provide plenty of scope for weathering and paint effects
Cheers Joe, I’m still undecided but you’re right they both look good. I’ve got a mask set so amgoing to attempt spraying them. It just depends how brave I’m feeling whether to go for the PR minimal markings or the fuller Bomber version 👍

Cheers Ian 🙂

Will follow Geof , lovely plane.

I did one some time ago when the Russians had one; unfortunately, they crashed it on the first landing:(, something to do with weak landing gear.

Nice, is the PR that blue colour? The 109 sqn looks good too though.

Following along Geoff. My attempt at a Revell mossie ended up as a paint mule so it'll be nice to see how the Tamiya goes together....

Nick

Really nice - that Mosquito is a cracking looking aircraft and either scheme sounds good. I've never actually seen this kit built up so it'll be interesting to see.

Looking forward to this lovely plane Geoff. Count me in
Cheers Bob, glad to have you along 😊

I agree Darian, it just looks “right” doesn’t it.
I’ve built the 1/72 version before which was fun but not the 1/48.

Hopefully we both enjoy the build 🙂

And we’re off 🙂

I’ve started by removing a lot of parts from the frames. Being Tamiya they haven’t needed much clean up.

They are all now ready for priming.

The resin seats have also been cleaned up and I’ve cemented them into place.

I’m not sure how accurate the pilot seat is as I thought it should be more of a bucket type seat to allow for the pilots parachute but I might be wrong 🤷‍♂️
They should like nice when painted up though.

So off the the paint booth next 🙂

Hopefully another update soon, thanks for looking 👍

Geoff.

All looking good Geoff.

The pilot used a sit-on parachute, which had to be lifted up and over the arm rest. In the 1/72 kit I'm building the seat has no cushion. The navigator had a clip on chest-mounted parachute that he had to retrieve from a small shelf at the the front of the cockpit next to the instrument panel

There's a great photo of an unrestored Mosquito bomber cockpit at the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum here https://airandspace.si.edu/collection-media/NASM-SI-2006-20908

Cheers Joe, yes that what I was thinking about the pilot and his parachute.

I’ve decided to use the kit parts instead as it would just nag at me to leave it knowing it’s not accurate 😵‍💫

Thank you for the link 👍

Looking good Geoff
Cheers Mike 🙂
