God save the Queen, Long live the King.

Great to see this post Karl :)
I, like a lot of the guys on here, have served that wonderful woman in our Armed Forces, and it was a pleasure to do so ....
...no "smilies"from me this time,
If any description.... Just PROUD

Rest in peace your Majesty.
Back with her beloved Phillip once more.

After my mother, Queen Elizabeth has been the only constant in my fifty years of life.
I wore the uniform with her crown with pride.
RIP.

And me too mate :)
We ALL ,(who served),think the same way...
.... And what I think makes it even more strange... Is the fact that our own "comfort life" has been put into context from a "CONSTANT", Suddenly being removed...

Indeed. Nothing will ever be the same again for those of us who grew up knowing no other monarch than Elizabeth II.

A new Era, for the majority of us who have never known another Monarch. A lifetime of service to the nation has finally come to an end
God Save the King

Proud to have served, fair winds and following seas, duty done, stand easy Ma'am

God save the King

My partner, who served in the RAF in the 'eighties, was almost in tears when I told him, and then couldn't explain just why
I said 'Oaths have meaning '

I feel so sad hearing this news. It is the end of an era. I am proud to say that I served in her armed forces for many years but that was a drop in the ocean compared to her life of total dedication and service to the country and Commonwealth.

Rest in peace, Your Majesty. Long live King Charles III.
