How do we know we're getting old ?

A true wake up call for me is my baby girl is Graduating High School tonight and next Saturday my oldest is Graduating College. I’ve learned to slow down and enjoy more “Me” time as I get older sometimes I may just sit in the barn lot and watch the chickens peck around for some time not having a care in the world especially after leaving a toxic work place after 25 years last year I’ll never put myself in that predicament again life’s too short now time to Really enjoy it. The realisation that when you bought your current house, nearly 8 years ago, the walk into town was on the level whereas now it is uphill in both directions!

And there was me thinking its all downhill from here on in! Lol

Realising that they might take my driving license away as I get older, so I can’t drive on the road anymore, but not worrying because then they’ll give me a miniature golf buggy and let me drive on the pavement…..

The definitive im old moment is that first time you see a scantily clad young lady on a summers day and the first thought in your mind is " go and put some bl##dy clothes on"
That's me ! Also I look at their shoes and think, 'what sort of support are they giving you ?' But, Barry Humphries was asked about getting old and he said something like, 'I still see, and like, the young ladies walking around, but they don't see me' sad, but true.

One indisputable fact is.....

As I get older, my legs are getting longer and my arms shorter.

I know this is true, because my socks are harder to put on, so my feet must be further away than they were a fair old time ago.

My current observations on getting old are:
As Ron pointed out: Socks are really hard to put on. Shoes come a close second.
Trouser sizes are terrible these days. For each year that passes, I find the wait size gets smaller each year. A pair of 34/34 are now way to short in the leg and the waist size? More like 42! I conclude that as I age I am compressing, thus getting wider and shorter. Thus proving that the older you are, the more you are effected by gravity.

Digging garden beds is no longer a "I'll do that befor lunch" kind of thing more a "I'll get that done over the weekend"...

Also I now have to get on all fours to put my tee in the ground playing golf, and don't ask how I get the ball out of the hole, assuming, that is, that I eventually get it there.

Ahh, that might explain my problem.

When I dropped something onto the floor in the past I used to be able to pick it up fairly easily. These days I have a real struggle. I always thought that the ground was simply getting further away!
