Well , having made up and painted a seat for a 1/12th scale Italeri Bugatti a little while ago, yesterday I could not find the pesky thing to do a trial fit into the bodywork. How I managed to mis lay it is a mystery right now having looked in what I thought all the obvious places I might have put it.
I mean, it's not the sort of tiny thing that pings out of a pair of tweezers into oblivion is it ?

In the words of that song 'Gotta keep searching, searching. Gotta keep searching, searching !'

I once lost my dad's car. Many, many years ago I borrowed my dad's car to take my then girl friend for a day out in York. Parked the car and did all the sites of the city. Time to go - couldn't remember which carpark the car was in! Just knew you could see the city walls from the CP. Not helpful really. Found the car in the third CP we looked in. Needless to say the girlfriend wasn't impressed and didn't last long.

I gave up on searching for my Bugatti seat so I replaced it with scratch built items from wood and using black glove leather.
It wasn't all that difficult as it happens, and in 1/12th scale the very thin glove leather looks spot on and to scale.

You’ll find it tomorrow then……

I have a ghost in my metalshop that likes to move things. It took my mill collet wrench the other day, spent 30 minutes looking for it (and the shop is only 8x6), finally found it right in front of me on the bench. Weird.

''I have a ghost in my metalshop'' the ghost in my work area is called my wife, she cant help but move stuff on the computer table, I think she learnt her lesson the other day she moved a piece I was glueing and i left it to dry, yes you've guessed it she pulled the part and it stuck to her fingers lol lol lol...

I tend to find that I lose far fewer things when my wife is not allowed into, or encouraged to stay away from, said area, eg, garage, garden shed, cabin, study, or whatever other mancave sanctuary you happen to have available.... etc. ;) (y)

A few weeks ago I purchased a number of containers to try and not upset the wife the many odds and sods I needed to keep. Her comment was finally in a sarcastic tone. LOL LOL LOL LOL. I have one specially near me while I am altering models, so I don't loose anything or drop it on the floor.

I usually put it down to Pixies 🧚‍♂️

On several occasions I have lost a part which pinged off into the ether necessitating a full bench strip down to look for it. Also usually including making several sweeps of the floor to check the carpet monster hasn’t snaffled it.
After these fruitless searches I have then found the part a few days later on the middle of the cutting mat on the bench that I had previously stripped down 😮

Lost count of the times I've been on hands and knees with a torch going all CSI looking for a part..... Given up..... Find something suitable in the spares box and glue it in...... Then I swear the lost part dematerialises on the bench right in front of me!

Once had the part turn up a few hours later stuck to the cats head, when she jumped up for a fuss
