If you were following the build here; Ian M's Seafire fr46/47. Airfix 1/48. you can see the result here.
The kit was a nice build, not that new a tooling but it went together well.
Paint is from AK real colour Lacquers. , the ones in the stupid bottles. Still great paint though.
Enough waffle:

All in all it was an enjoyable build. (if a bit quick).

Thanks for all your comments underway.

Very nice indeed Ian, those colours really work on it, and yes, you've certainly gotta love a contra-rotating prop.. (y)

Top notch wiork as ever. This is a 46 right which had shorter supercharger intakes - than they seem pretty long so makes you wonder just how long the 47’s were then!

Correct. The 46 had a shorter 'normal' air scoop for the supercharger whilst the 47 had the full length 'chin' that went right to the front of the fuselage. That, by the way, was deemed less efficient than the shorter standard intake. Also the 46 did not have folding wings, and was...... drum roll please..... faster than the 47.

Lovely job Ian , it does look a very purposeful machine the fr46 , still unmistakeably got the spitfire family resemblance but a lot meaner looking , fabulous stuff ! , cheers tony
