Finally I have got this trouble maker finished its been sat taunting me since April but I have the measure of it and on my fourth attempt here's the results

great finish, but you should try some different rigging material - one that isn't hairy - maybe a nylon monofilament?, or one of the specialist rigging threads? I've even tried wire, but it's tricky to hold & fasten!
