Coming a long nicely. Can I ask what the wheels are like? I find often that the plastic spoked wheels are often rather iffy.

As an aside, I'm a bit shocked by your choice of work table. It looks suspiciously like it might be Ercol. If it is, I'd clean it up and sell it, you'll make more than a bob or two - highly collectible these days.

Hi all more work on the engine, the pipework is supposed to be gunmetal (why? Surley it would be steel or ally) anyway I decided for a bit of interest I would do it copper.

The pipes you have done in copper, Are they from or to a Turbo of sorts. It might be a heat thing. Copper has quite a low melting point.....But it looks good!

Thats a supercharger, not as hot as it does not use hot exhaust gas to work it
And this is why my car goes to the local mechanic when it goes wrong LOL!

Thanks guys glad you like it, one other point (sort of give away) it's got rubber flexi pipes connecting it all.
A Supercharger is gear driven off the engine - it's usually called a 'blower' - it gives an instant boost of air on acceleration, whilst a turbocharger suffers from an inertia delay - 'turbo lag'. It does have a significant parasitic power consumption, unlike a turbo, which is driven by the departing exhaust gases. Blowers are usually suited to engines that are used at very variable revs ( like a street racing circuit ) or in short bursts, like drag racing, where instant acceleration is important. Only a few production road cars use a supercharger these days - one being the Mercedes-Benz 'Kompressor'
