Tried to go historically accurate for the first time. A fairly well photographed vehicle, 'cept I have merged the photos into one.

Meng's Jagdpanther G1 with Voyager PE. Zimmeritt is half milliput, half Tamiya epoxy putty. I found the Tamiya Putty too hard (consistency) to work with. Milliput on the flip side didn't have as good adhesion to the model while working it. Much swearing occurred with both. May not be doing DIY Zim again. Made the cleaning rod container myself with 0.12 copper foil. Also lots of swearing.

Pretty much ready for primer, although waiting for some tracks to be delivered.

Thanks Scotty. I'm pleased with the Zim but it took a lot. Think It's just to keep the MG port cover from getting lost. It's a bit out of scale, and not necessarily on the pics, but I wasn't a fan of the PE offering

Looks very nice Jack. Plenty of detail to see there. The tarpaulin is especially effective.
I’ve only tried Zim once before, using milliput, and had exactly the same issues….by the time I’d worked out that you need to leave the stuff until it is virtually set, I’d finished. Haven’t rushed back to do another…..

Wow Jack, I love a Hunting Kitty and yours is fantastic Sir. Excellent scratchy work all around. Almost a pity to cover it in paint. Nice job on the tarp too!!!

With all that scratchy and your new found vocabulary from it, I bet you would be a hit talking to folks down at the pub on Friday..........

Terrific work Jack. Love the Zimm and the PE. To my eyes both make the model more realistic and individual. The details you’ve added give the vehicle some history. It has a story to tell.
looking forward to seeing some paint on this beast.

ps. I’m sure you’ve read how 3 of these beasts (from Schwerer Abteilung 654) took on a battalion of Scots Guards Churchills destroying 11! They were extremely effective tank destroyers

This weekend I finished putting together the Masterclub tracks, they need the finishing treatment, the whole lot needs a matt varnish, will then call it finished. I may do a simple base.
