Although the Russian's had flown the plane on 9 other occasion's this was the end.
Reading about the history of the plane reviled that a total of 273 planes were lost to the undercarriage failing on landing or take off.

Top work 453.
A most original and well produced piece of modelling. Nice, moody B/W image too!

Thank you 570, Mrs Race has been holding up the model on a section of 2x1 to get the 1st photo.

Wow Dude 2!!! That looks perfect and love the base!!! Super idea with the B/W photo as it looks real with the background...I have to give that a try sometime...Great work on the painted-out roundel too!!! Top job Buddy!!! Pm later.

Thanks Dude 1, the painted out roundel is down to Tim's suggestion .Came out better that I had hoped.

John,

Very, very nice indeed! Interesting to hear so many were lost due to undercarriage failures.

I know from my reading that they used rubber blocks for simplicity rather than proper shock absorbers and the like....I wonder if that was the issue?

Again great work.

ATB.

Thanks Andrew, it was surprising to me there were so many.

Brilliant work. The B&W shot really sets an atmosphere.
Thanks Colin.

That is excellent John. Really good set of images that truly set the scene. Top drawer :thumb2:

Very Well Done JR.....tip 'o the hat to Her Majesty for the fine effort of getting this into position for a very convincing B&W snap of the old Mossie. :thumb2: ;)
