I mentioned earlier in a build thread that I have just landed this in the stash and would post some photos of the kit. Well here it is.

A smallish but deep box with a great painting type box art.

This is a new tool kit from a new(ish) name and is the long awaited British Jag. The earlier release being the French one.

It is moulded in a nice light grey plastic which looks to be quite clean. maybe a few ejector pin marks but I suspect that most of them will be hidden away in the build.

There are three paint options: Grey/green wrap a round. the winter version with the green painted out in white. The last is the Desert storm version. A rather amusing decal for the nose art, is also reproduced in a larger size to use how you wish. (Mine will probably go on the front of my lap top !!

Sorry about the cat, she is a right nosey thing and always wants to see whats in the box as well.

Loads of detail, and still room for scratchers to add or improve upon. Internal detail for several of the instrument bays, which have the doors as a loose part so they can be posed open... :)

Panel lines are fine and sharp but some of the detail is, is you ask me a tiny bit on the soft side.

Some of the detail will serve well as a guide to scratching bits or running lines...

Oh almost forgot: Bombs! Loads of 'em as well. :)

Enough twaddle and time for the pictures...

Looks good.I might be tempted as I seem to have got into building jets just lately.I've got a Gulf war decal sheet in my stash with 'Johnny Fart Pants' on it that I fancy doing.

Looks very nice Ian , good to see whats in the box . I did the Airfix/heller 1/48 jag in the sadman scheme but had to get the Modeldecal sheet to do so , this would have probably worked out around the same price ,plus you get P.E. too. Good to see more reviews as well , ive been meaning to do some on the new airfix toolings (sabre, typhoon, spit mk22) , I did the MiG 15 but havent got round to the rest yet! cheers tony

Just ordered this Ian. I've also heard that Eduard are bringing out a 1/48 Jag, it'll be interesting to see which is the better kit in terms of build and accuracy. All the reviews I've read of this and the earlier release have been favourable tho.

Oh before I forget, do you get 2 drop tanks? this being (so I'm told) the more usual load on a gulf war Jag with the LGB on the centre line.

Cheers

Paul

Actually, looking at the sprues I think i see 2 tanks so thanks for the shots - very useful

Cheers

That Jag has been on Eduard's coming soon list for about four-five years, so don't hold your breath. Italeri also announced one last year and I got a confirmation that it will be 1/48 scale.

since then it has fallen off the radar so to speak.

Eduard would have 99% sure used the Airfix/Heller kit as the base and worked it up.

The one thing I am looking forward to is the undercarriage. The Airfix one though good was rather light in the detail department, though nothing a few bits of wire and plastic strip can't solve.

Great review Ian, it sure looks a nice kit, I'll have to save up and add it to my stash until I feel competent enough to do it justice.

This is a nice kit Ian thanks for the review I got this for Christmas to go with my Cold War jets collection

I like the cockpit detail on the pe I'm going to look on the web to see if I can get any picks for paint colour :)

that looks a very nice kit, look forward to seeing it go together

cute kitty too :) reminds me of Tiff, our last cat

I have read that the Resin cock pit from NeOmega fits this kit.

Thanks for the comments and I will post the build when I get a work bench up again...:

Looks a great kit, and just what I want for my "close to my heart" collection. Will have to learn to airbrush first though as I dont feel confident enough to do RAF camoflage with a brush.

Just one question. Does the beautiful cat come with the kit? Afterall, its is a kity hawk kit.

Adrian I can't say how poor this kit is and I'd feel so bad if I didn't point out how bad this kit is but I will say if you like a challenge then go for it and I for one would love to see this kit done by a good builder :)

Don't say that, I bought it as I was told Kitty Hawk were a good brand with lots of detail :(

I'm struggling with the Eduard 109 right now and don't fancy another fight
