Been laid up for several days - so, no benchtime - I've hurt my back, and have been having a lot of bed rest, although I'm having difficulty sleeping, I can't get comfortable - painkillers work, but you can only take so many in a day........... , and I have to balance this against possible effects on my diabetes. Luckily I can use my laptop lying flat in my bed, just moving my fingers on the touchpad! - If only I didn't have to charge the battery so often! I have been spending a lot of time on ebay, but without much success, at least 20 auction bids, with no wins - the result of me being a little tight..............
Gradually getting better, I can move around, as long as I take things very slowly. It's times like these that I really appreciate living in a flat, as stairs would be beyond me at the moment. I have my laptop, Kindle and my MP3 player,tv, pvr, cordless phone, mobile phone all within reach, and I'm still getting bored! I do have a well stocked freezer & food cupboard, loads of tins & dried stuff - living by yourself, you do have these eventualities in mind.

Dave, Sorry to hear that you're virtually immobilised - I can totally empathise with you - I have a persistent issue with a dodgy disc in my back that causes nerve pressure that manifests as sciatic pain and affects my sleeping.

I can't take non-steroidal anti-inflammatories (eg Ibuprofen) as I'm on steroids and immuno-suppressants for an auto-immune condition so I'm stuck with pain-killers which don't really work!

Hopefully things will improve soon

Mark

Sorry to hear that Dave, hope you get well soon.

Backs are bloody awful things when they go wrong.
I've sworn various times that I'll have mine removed next time it messes me about.
Alternating hot & cold seems to help me. As well as drugs & alcohol. Also, binge watching NCIS makes me feel better, though I can't think why.

In all seriousness, I wish you all the best. Last time mine went was in August and it was so bad I couldn't get to my Dads funeral.

Take it steady.

Sorry to read of your troubles Dave . Very painful , hope it goes quickly.
Did you do something to set it off , I turned once and was in pain for days !

Sorry to read about your back. How did you hurt it? Are you close with your flat neighbours? Just in case help is needed.
I've never been bored...sleep is my favorite past time besides modeling. :smiling6:

Cheers,
Richard

Thanks all for your kind words! :thumb2: No idea how I did it - felt a bit stiff going to bed & woke up a few hours later in pain................

Just seen this Dave,
.....and very sorry to hear it I am too!
I can certainly understand the "boredom" thing,it must be an absolute nightmare, and as you say,it can happen with no apparent rhyme or reason ;)
I can only echo what the guys have said, and wish you a speedy recovery mate :)

Probably aggravated it in your sleep Dave. Hope it improves soon mate.

I can't grumble too much, just get a frequent twinge if I turn too sharply..... Small beer when compared to a few of the chaps currently ;)
