Latest Acquisitions (2020)

The real ones in Oman were painted with white paint into which red and perhaps a little black had been added by whoever was responsible for painting them, so basically: pick a pink you like, or better yet, mix your own until you feel it looks right.

Thanks Jakko, something to think about

Suggest on your next visit your have a word with the Hobbycraft management and point out how unstable their shelving is. It a serious health and safety issue after all...... At least your wallet!

Andrew, I'll just stop the Mrs going in there, that'll be a massive financial gain... for both us! :smiling5:

Been thinking on how to display my Wellington bust. I looked at wooden plinths, but I wanted something plain, and in a neutral colour, so the bust draws the attention, not the base! - anyway postie delivered these a moment ago.......................

Solid resin plinths, ready to be drilled & sprayed. I sourced them from Model Display Products in Newport, Gwent. Reasonable price, fast service - well worth a look!

Yep, use a lot of their bases, quick blast with Tamiya Grey primer and ready to be painted whatever colour you want.

A very generous gift from Rich 48, would not accept a penny

On Alistair's Saddam's Brolly thread and on my thread asking for PE bending advice Simon T suggested that embossing tools could be useful.

I'll see if they work for curving the PE seats on my 88mm gun.

Yes, not sure I can cope with all those stages :smiling:

Actually, getting rid of the heavy seams on the vinyl shell and casing and filling the sink mark on the styrene base cap to get a smooth finish will probably be the main challenge, closely followed by trying to get a realistic paint finish of course
