Latest Acquisitions (2022)

OK chaps! So yet more damage to the credit card.....

The decals below look very nice and will do very nicely for what I have in mind and indeed for about half a dozen Tiffies!

The Quickboost seats were inspired by someone who bought their 1/48 version for the Mossie GB and look very nice, although I won't be using them for my entry as I'm planning to use pilots, if the seats work out ok. The masks obviously speak for themselves!

I think for add-ons and the like at least for the immediate future..... For bulk and whole kits not yet?
I agree. So far, it looks mainly to be a good tool for things that would otherwise be tricky to scratchbuild, like these roller hubs,* and for relatively small, intricate parts like track links. Whole kits, I’m still not really convinced — except maybe to make masters for more traditional resin casting, that would speed up the design and actually lower costs compared to resin printing …

* I could, and would, have scratchbuilt these from plastic if I had a good way to easily make 36 rings of the size I needed. But after a lot of thinking about it, I still couldn’t think of a way to do that other than cutting them by hand, so 3D printing seemed the best solution.

A nice haul there Andrew. The decals certainly look comprehensive

When I drag my knuckle of the floor that gets a thumbs up from me :thumb2: :smiling5:

Had to Google, yeah I see what you mean :smiling5:

WOW Macc Lads! - I went to see them in the early 80's ! - quite an experience! I was lucky, I only lost a shirt sleeve & had bruised knuckles. Fluffy Pup & No Sheep 'till Buxton are about the only ditties I remember before it all got a bit hectic! One of the punk offshoots that were common at that time. Sheffield was a centre for live music late 70's - mid 80's - I saw quite a few bands before they made the big time - Def Leppard - ABC - Human League, but the one that I remember best was Blondie (1977 or 8 )
All popular pubs had live music on Saturday night - you could find everything from Jazz, Skiffle, Rock - right through to Folk and all within easy walking/staggering distance! There were certain venues that could be guaranteed to end up in fights, but generally it was pretty good natured..............

... And they could actually play their instruments too.... to a pretty good standard in fact :smiling3:
P S. The "Knuckles dragging on the ground" bit is from "Saturday night" ;) ... A bit of a classic if you ask me!!

A mate of mine was into punk in a big way and I remember him mentioning the Macc Lads..... Can only assume No Sheep 'till Buxton is a play on words of the Stiff Little Fingers track / album (can't remember which) No Sleep til Belfast (or vice versa)..... And yes I have seen SLF in concert a few times in the early 90s..... At the Brixton academy almost always on st. Patrick's night..... Absolute carnage but great gigs.....I still listen to their albums even now when the fancy takes me !

When googling them it turns out they are still playing and are doing 2022 tour.

Andrew they well look the part amazing what can be done now ,I've noticed many manufacturers now including 3D printed parts tools track links etc personally exciting times ahead. The nightshift build was interesting it shows just what can be done and what is to come ,I think there only beginning to scratch the surface at some point it will become very cost effective ,no moulds to produce and store after the initial production ,all thats needed are a few savvy guys with the measurements scan data etc and bingo you can produce to demand at the press of a button. There are a lot of excellent 72nd resin manufacturers in the eastern block regions cant wait to see what they can come up with. But and I'm sure most will agree it has to match pennies in pocket if that isn't there then I'm quite happy to be a second class citizen with my relatively cheap 72nd plastic kits.
Oh and scrub the girls drinks I'll stick with a nice bottle of Nobb Creek or Wild Turkey over ice and just a tiny dash of coke with mine.

“No sleep til xxxx“ was a standard early eighties comment Andrew, used on several live album titles. The first (I think) was 1981 Motörhead’s “No sleep ‘til Hammersmith”. The phrase was made famous/popular by the beastie boys “No sleep ‘til Brooklyn“, which is probably the blueprint for the play on words here.
SLF still tour, by the way……they are going around again in the autumn.

I see!!! I was a bit too young; I was still at junior school!!! In 1981!!!! ;)

It's funny you should say about SLF....I checked only a matter of weeks ago and could see they were still touring!!

No Box, No Instructions - It's a Mirage 1/400 Town Class 4 piper ( or a USN Wickes class destroyer ), at just over £8 delivered, quite good!

I'm very impressed with your Ebay bargain hunting skills Dave. I can never find anything I want at a cheap price.

Mike,
at the moment, I'm laid up - no benchtime, so I have time to explore the ins & outs of ebay - the lots where sellers don't know what they have got, or where they can't spell, or just can't express themselves! Just a matter of patience, time and a big chunk of luck!

Yep,It`s yet ANOTHER King Tiger!!:flushed:.......
..... However,I`ve never done one of these before, and whilst at Tankfest a few weeks back,Rach saw their restored one and thought it was fantastic. When i agreed, and said that i didn`t have one in the stash, she announced it was time to address that particular vacancy!! :money-face:....
Lo and behold, this arrived from Jadlam yesterday:thumb2:
