Latest Acquisitions (2022)

This came in the post today, it has a slightly damaged box which even has the original cellophane cover on it.

Yes, I know I said that after the hassle of the Ducati I said I would never entertain another Protar kit, but an AJS 7R, how could I resist? It came up with the option of making an offer so I did and got it. These machines take me back to when I was a bit younger, actually a lot younger, when we used to go and watch them racing along with Matchless G50's, Manx Nortons, BSA Gold Stars etc and the noise and smells were something else. As far as I know this is the only 7R kit produced by any manufacturer. If I kept it for a year I could probably get much more than I paid for it but this will get built.

Andy.

I allowed myself to give in to temptation, this arrived this morning:

which will be used to recreate this photo:

some ICm figures are also on order.

Know what you mean Andy......"one lungers" always were a bit of a "Thumper" especially in the large cc class! Makes my hair (what's left of it) stand up whenever I hear that growl! :thumb2:

A delivery from the rain forest!
DSCF3551.JPG
Ordered Sunday, delivered by postie 11:00 on Wednesday - all for the princely sum of £9.68 delivered. Surprisingly, it feels quite sturdy. It's on charge at the moment & when I've had a chance to play with it, I'll do a product review

For the two pilots watching;

The seated pilot above combined with the pilot in the set below will form the guy jumping through the escape hatch, with a couple of the other figures looking on;

ok, he is German but the kneeling figure will be converted to represent the guy moving the matress.

now they are here, all of the kits can go into a box and into the loft until I can gat around to building them!!

Postman dropped a package off today. Needed paints, resin wheel set and reference materials were the contents,

My 2 bottles of dark yellow are over 7 years old and my dark gray is over 15 years old. Resin for my Famo as I hate rubber tires. Next,

Love my 1/2 tracks and have quite a few of these types in the stash. The next pair were interesting too,

I have a Salvo Flak kit (right pic) in the stash and the one on the left (Flak I) would make a really cool scratchy project. I also love my Panzerwreck series too........Hey, no kits were in this package. Miracles do happen...................

Does Def. Model include the rim stiffeners used on Famos front wheels?

Got # 28... It's the bible on kraut tracks. I'd kill to get my hands on #41! You might consider doing a book review on it with lots of close ups of the piccies. ;) ;)

Nuts & Bolts.....I am hoping to get some better info on the sWS. the little ref. I do have is off the net and I'm looking to verify the dimensional data I have, to make sure I am working to the correct dimensions. Damn ROCO sWS is a midget compared to the info I have. Too short too narrow and just about worthless without a complete rebuild.

Specs on basic sWS.
Source, is Panzer Tracts No.22-23
L=6.675m
W=2.5m
H=2.83m w/canvas cover
Wheel Base=2.1m
Track Base=1.95m
Track Contact=2.04m
Ground Clearance=50cm

Going to give these a go, low on frisk film, apparently reusable, we'll see.

And not for the current build but a future one, and not wanting to start a row about "correct colours" but.....

Karl,
I've just used some Top Notch masks on a Spitfire and Mosquito and was quite pleased :)
They sealed very well although,did take just a little while to get used to applying.As for "reusable",hmmmm, not so sure about that,but that could just be me! ;)

Probably be me too then.

Anyhoo postie's been and I'm adding some FAA love to my RAF journey.....IMG_20221014_103535.jpg
There's a few issues as this is based on their Skua kit, apparently the Roc had asingle fuel tank not a twin and the prop was also bigger, I'll have to check these but should be easy to fix. ( Or ignore......)
