I had a wee look in the box, quality looks typical Tamiya but it may be a decal nightmare. Anyhoo, it will not be started for a while as I am about to start another model and I am off to the IOM TT for a couple of weeks on Friday.

Andy.
Well it's going to be interesting to say the least . Hope you blog it Andy .

Hi all,

So had a productive morning yesterday.....

A 5-ish minute walk to my barbers. Then a three minute walk down to the local charity bookshop......

And the route home takes me past my local model shop next to the barbers. He does mostly RC stuff but there are a few bits and pieces of use.

End result was this...... The book was only £2....

I have a part built Tamiya Bogue escort carrier - these only carried F4F Wildcats & TBM Avengers - I couldn't find any F4F's in my stash - so the box has 6 aircraft of each type ( 4 x B-25 ), and perhaps a mistake, no less than 7 decal sheets with stars. stars & bars, and ID letters more than enough. These aren't the fancy Trumpeter transparent aircraft, just normal grey plastic - but each aircraft consists of 5 parts ( 6 for the Mitchell )

I also have this to be built, I chose it as I watched the real thing racing at LeMans 24 hour race in the nineties , 97/98?

Very jealous of your TT trip , I've been twice but long overdue for another one ;-)

Not read any of his books yet,but he's great to listen to on the History documentaries..... One of the very best IMHO :)

I thought his Battle of Britain book was excellent. He’s a good live speaker as well.

You should try them. The Malta one was very good.

Not heard him live yet but I recently discovered his podcasts with Al Murray and am really enjoying them.

Really productive...a model shop that close...walking distance is too lose for comfort for me...SWMBO can easily walk over and wack me in the head. :tears-of-joy:

Cheers,
