Scale Model Shop

Latest Acquisitions (2022)

Bob .
I keep hearing about this make and looking at their web page the replacement parts are quite cheap .They do a tip and needle that fits a Neo at virtually half the price of Neo by Iwata .
That .8 would suit me ;), think of all the 4BO I could hurl about !
Nice socks by the way :smiling3:
I knitted the socks over a few cold winter nights, thus years plan is nice wig;) they are Iwata stockists and the service is excellent.

Sadly they do not do a large bucket attachment John

You have to watch out, and make sure that your air compressor can give you an adequate volume of air. I once tried a larger airbrush & the compressor simply couldn't push enough air through the larger nozzle as soon as you pressed the trigger, the pressure just dropped & the compressor was running full tilt - rather than atomise the paint, all that happened was a random spatter of blobs. The larger airbrushes need almost industrial size compressors to work correctly. I think my AS186 can handle about 25 litres/minute, so you'd need a much higher rated compressor

In our local SENSE Charity shop this morning (SENSE is the charity supporting those who are deaf and blind - I can't begin to imagine that). DVD from 2018, WW1 Centenary. What intrigued me was that it was produced by Peter Jackson - Lord of the Rings, Wingnut Wings etc. Only £1.

I went for a walk through the village this afternoon, and happened across a small antiques/collectors fair in the main street that I didn’t even know would be there. On the very first stall was this:

€2 and it was mine, still in its original shrink-wrap, by the looks of it :)

They also had an Airfix figure set, but Airfix holds just about no nostalgia for me so I let them keep it to sell to someone who does have good memories of the brand :)

If you haven’t seen that before, you are going to love it Jim. The execution is superb, adding not just colour, but background noise and dialogue in time with the images on the film. The teeth on show are horrendous though :tongue-out3:

Matchbox were the new kids on the block to me, I had the Airfix little lads. They came with folding kayaks so you could play cockshell heroes…

Went and picked up a rather large parcel from the post office this morning from japan, been promising myself a big floaty thing for ages so even after paying vat and fees ive saved about 80 quid :smiling3: that will cover some brass bits. Cant wait to get started on one of them but patience will be needed as the p51 gb is almost apon us.20220827_142328.jpg20220827_142257.jpg

Same, and in fact I almost certainly still have my “original” ones at the back of a drawer somewhere. To make it even more nostalgic, a while after posting the photo above, I realised that I bought this set directly opposite where the shop was that sold me the set I had in the 80s …

..... Happy memories :)
You and me both :) I also had the 1:32 scale ones, but for some reason I seem to have thrown those out so long ago that I don’t even remember doing it (but I must have, as I couldn’t find them anymore years ago, when I went and looked for them :().

That shop I mentioned didn’t have any Airfix at all, as far as I recall, so it was Matchbox figures almost all the way for my brother and me. The only Airfix set I ever had was the RAF ground personnel, with the figures carrying a rocket.

It's a good read Andrew but i would take a bag (not a pinch) of salt with the 'facts' in the book. A brave man indeed. But can stretch the truth a little for his own benefit.
