Latest Acquisitions (2023)

A few recent impulse / bargain buys . After doing a couple of FW190s i seem to have developed a taste for german aircraft! None of these four cost more than a tenner in total - the Airfix was a car boot bargain -£3 , the Tamiya E-3 was ebay -£6.13 inc postage , the Tamiya E-4/7 another ebay £9.43 inc postage and the AZ another ebay - £9.65 inc postage , so the whole lot cost about £28 . And heres me trying to get the stash whittled down :rolling: 203913DF-7770-4C84-858E-6D9BE22B24DF.jpegE9B64068-D653-46D4-ACC0-1381CE4FFEC5.jpeg70FEA69D-C1DA-4980-A9DF-BD06F461C8D5.jpeg8494975F-18DC-4ACB-9DC5-18A7EA9C6BB0.jpegC796CEB9-5A83-4340-BBBF-19DEDA4AA676.jpeg3BA65015-6A3F-4C74-9E0E-BFACA0128A6F.jpegC21D68EF-8511-4411-844C-D6F204344401.jpegF33C4D89-7ABF-4A6B-A854-E8DD907202EF.jpeg

Looking good Tony!! A very nice haul, at a very good price too!!

Watch the alignment and fit on the AZ Model kit. There is virtually nothing to help the two fuselage halves align and so I had to fit thin styrene strips on the bottom and thicker rod on the top to give me something to work with.

As our very own Colin M put it on the build, with regards to AZ Model kits, "...everything is sort of there, but just doesn't quite 'gel'...".

By comparison the newer Airfix offerings are far better...... And as for Tamiya "nuff said"!

Looking forward to these come together!

ATB.

Thanks for the heads up andrew , the AZ kit looks very nicely detailed ,quite crisp mouldings on this one , the only thing is the canopy is only offered as a closed unit so as nice as the cockpit is most of it wont be seen, anyway it was the brown and green stripy camo that really got my interest. The Tamiya kits also only give a closed canopy, ironically the Airfix has probably the most simplified cockpit but is the only one offering an open option .

Should be go……..they look like nice sculpts. Very detailed…..I did some Wargs a while back if you want to look them out. They should be in the completed fantasy figure section.
I'll be going through your portfolio and SBSs Tim!

Can you swap the canopies around Tony? Hope you've got some money left for Sunday at Hinckley!

He'll be ok Pete! He was last seen rummaging through the couch cushions and the car seats looking for cash...

A 3-day delivery from Poland at a good price. Too many paints and stuff with no place to store them,

Thanks Andy, Been busy drilling the stress points for some brads. With those and the glue, it should stay together. I just don't understand what this drawer set has to do with the Spice Girls though!!!...

A rain forest dude just dropped this off a little while ago,

IMG_3578.JPGOver 300 pages about the testing facility and the wing thingy's developed there. Really interesting with loads of pics, charts and profiles of the whole series they built. A couple of teasers,
