How on earth did that Lærke get all the way to the wilderness of Canada! Looking forward to seeing that one.\ said:Apart from the four 1/72 armour kits, all of these have been gifted to me over the past few weeks, thanks to some very generous friends and family members:-
Nice models Ian it's a shame about all the extra trouble and costs your postman as caused sounds like he's an idiot and lacking in brain cells thankfully my postmen and delivery drivers have more than two brain cells and can think on their feet even leaving parcels at neighbours or the local newsagent with a card posted through the door.Perhaps next time you see him you should ask him were he'd like it in the head or the guts\ said:Some days ago I ordered a couple of kits from the scale Models shop. Just as I was beginning to wonder I got a message from John saying that they had come back to him....the reason given? "Not known at the address". This made me wonder as the address was correctly addressed.
In an attempt to get the cost of postage reimbursed I rang the post office over here to hear why a parcel that is sent registered and sign for sent back to the sender as no one had banged on the door and asked for my autograph. Nor had they put a card in the post box saying that I have to go to the post office.
The voice on the phone asked for the number of the shipment and after a moment calmly said "It is because there was no name on the letter box"
"The house number is on it"! I replied.
"has to have a name on"
"Cobblers, I get several packages a week and this has never happened before!"
"Well it must have been the only postman that follows the rules"
"So you are saying its my own fault and its not your problem?"
"Correct"
So £25 out the window. Contacted John and he said he would send them via DHL and he cut me a deal on the shipping. So a further £15 was sent and then it was christmas.
Today I finally took charge of my latest Acquisitions:
